Is there a tool list anywhere? My google skills are lacking and they're not in the AEV instructions. I'm trying to avoid any unneeded trips to the store.
Not a list, but you can watch this and then go and check the various bolts and nuts on your JT against what's in your toolbox.

All factory torque specs are here.

Using the base torque plus degrees method will allow you to use a lower rated torque wrench for the initial torque and a breaker bar or impact for the additional degrees of rotation.

You're going to want :
  • an impact driver that will run about 1000 ft lbs to break the hard stuff loose and to finish of the rear control arms.
  • A 250ftlb torque wrench, the front LACs torque at 190, the rest are lower or go 111 ft lbs +60 to 90 deg. You'll need the impact for that also.
  • A spring compressor to get the springs back in with the spacers.
  • General sockets and wrenches are: 15/16ths, 13/16ths, 19mm, 18mm, 3/4" for the wheel lug nuts when you use the torque wrench to put them back on.
  • Heavy duty jack stands to set the frame on, a floor jack or two come in handy to move the axle up and down as you work on it.
  • Besides the included instructions look up some YouTube videos to watch that will give some good tips and clarifications.
Good luck.

thanks a bunch! I just turned 40, one of my first life lessons was to lay out your tools the night before so you don’t spend half the day ripping through your toolbox. Even better while having a beer and enjoying the quietness of night.

You do you but I’d be reluctant to use the impact to tighten. Really easy to snap things unexpectedly …:(

Do you know how to calculate 111 ft lbs +90 degrees into torque level? I guess you could use your torque wrench to turn that much more. It does sound safer but the end torque is the same.

I’ve learned from pain that I don’t have the finesse with an impact to be precise like that. I have friends who do because they do it every day. My ham handed self has snapped too many things in half or, worse, stripped them. Wrench is slower on the front end but I don’t have the back end time of fixing something I’ve broken ?

The way I did it was after torquing with the wrench to 111 lbs I put the impact on and looked at the numbers on the socket and watch it turn to the desired angle. You could do the same with the torque wrench and someone here shared the genius idea of using a jack to pump the wrench to the desired position. I darned near blew snot bubbles torquing the front LCAs to 190.

Yup, I have a 250 but when I looked for a 111 ft lb +90 deg calculation it showed there were too many factors to calculate so I went with torquing to 111 and the impacting another 90 deg.
Any idea what the torque would be at 111 lbs +90 deg?
That Snap-On does the angle for you. You hit 111, switch it to angle, and it will count the 90.

• Torque-then-angle allows the user to torque fasteners and then switch to angle without removing the torque wrench from the fastener

Nice.
I would rather spend the 750 on Jeep stuff though.
