I've "over built" the coop with 1/4 hardware cloth sandwiched between 2x4s. Yeah, I kinda got carried away on building it. I actually don't normally have them to "close" all the loose dogs around. Bobcats, and other cats are seen/ recorded on security, door and game cameras around my area often along with black bears.

Heck we have to watch out for the dogs too!!! They’ve been notorious for taking out livestock in this area. Many have adopted BLM burros for that very reason to protect their livestock. Not sure how that would go with chickens though.

Farmers in my area are using mules and donkeys for livestock protection. They will kill a coyote.

Right quick too!!! Even if they don’t end up killing it you’re gonna know that coyote is there. They’ve got some LUNGS on em!!!!

Lowe’s drives me crazy. Unless it’s a specific expensive item and they’re the only ones that have it. I avoid that store.

The store I normally go to is better than most I've been in. Might be I spent 16k about there in 6 months though.

Easier to use discounts than HD though. HD drives me crazy with constantly having to change my dang password!!!! There’s only so many variations of “Leave me alone” out there that I can use!!

I don’t have a good setup for smoking. I can do small scale stuff on the grill with a smoker box, but not big stuff. I had a larger grill at the previous house. Someday.

Yeah, along with Tractor Supply that APP has screwed up my account totally. All I can get from their help/ service ect is to tell me close my account and make a new one. My account with Tractor Supply is around 25 years several trailers, tons of feed purchases and a lot of stuff. Home Depot isn’t nearby, but on some things they carry I prefer to use. I "jumped full in" the Ridgid tool boxes when I lived closer to a H.D. When I was building my cabin H.D. carried the brand of insulation I like to use. I had to special order part of it though. Cut to fit batts of R-30, R-19 floor has R-30, walls and roof R-19, EPS 1in foam and tyvek wrapped.
Yeah I tried to over build it when building it. Not big but throughly insulated, wired and streamlined plumbing.
In part of how I spent so much at Lowes in 6 months. I doesn't look great, simple and built for me. Hard to think it was appraised by 2 insurance companies that it would cost over 56k to replace the year I built it. Now 67-70k.

I fried some ham for dinner last night, I hacked off 1/4 ham I bought at same time as the turkey.

Not really ‘cooking’….
Spent several of my holiday days off doing some canning.
I’ve had probably a good 100+ lbs of tomatoes in the freezer. Starting to work thru those and make Pizza/Pasta sauce. I still have 50lb in the freezer.

Processed Cowboy Candy BBQ sauce and Sloppy Joes. Today….I’ll probably get the turkey carcass out of the freezer and make broth.

One of these days..the hubby needs to run a couple briskets soon.

I did one of those hormel pre seasoned tenderloins on the Weber yesterday. Indirect heat with some mesquite chunks. It took almost an hr, but it was so amazingly good for the little bit of effort. I’m going to have to do that more often. I wish I had made twice as much.

Watched some playoff college football while cooking since it was a nice 60 degree day.
