Wicked pop sound

I know sounds are one of the hardest thing to explain without someone hearing them, so I asking for ideas please. When I go to back up sometimes not all the time a pretty wicked pop. I have checked all the controls bolts, the rear sway is disconnected, shocks are tight, driveshaft looks and feels tight. Not sure what the torque specs are on the control arms. 20 model with a 3” jks lift stock rear control arms lift was installed by previous owner. Thanks for any help or ideas

Does it sound like its coming from the front or the rear? I had a pop noise when backing up that turned into a consistent clicking noise going forward or reverse. My noise was coming from the driver side front. Turned out to be loose caliper bolts.

Now that you mention that, I found my first Gladiator driver front caliper bolts loose at some point and they made a click/pop noise.

When I get into my Jeep first thing in the morning and put her in reverse to back out of the garage, I get a snapping/clanking sound upon going from P to R. Only time it happens.

Then in the evening back in and in the morning pull out and ya won't hear it anymore .

I have been told by the dealer that the skid plate bolts can loosen and when the chassis flexes you can hear it shift. I hear the pop mostly when backing out of my driveway at the curb and going over speed bumps. The dealer did torque the skid plate bolts once that seemed to fix for a short time.

Remove the skid plate for a week and see if the sound goes away.

Mine has been making a pop sound for the past few months. I can sometimes get it to do it one time in the morning by jumping on the right side of the rear bumper, but only once (on the first downstroke) and not again. It sounds like it is coming from the right side underneath somewhere near the back of cab or front of bed. It pops sometimes when I turn or hit a bump with one wheel or go from reverse to forward but it is random, no particular thing/place does it every time. I've cranked down on every nut and bolt I found underneath and sprayed oil on a lot of bolted connections but it has made no difference I can discern. Next I might try loosening or removing skid plates and other bolts instead of tightening them. It is driving me freaking crazy.

I had a similar issue back in 2023 (truck is a 2021 picked up in Oct 2020). Had a popping noise that only happened sometimes backing in and out of my driveway while turning.
Here is a picture of the RO. They couldn't find it during road test but put chassis ears on the truck and detected the noise.

Said all 4 ball joints were loose AND a skidplate although they didn't say which skidplate it was. I had added a couple aftermarket ones, so not sure if it one of those or a factory one?

I have my 25 Mojave x at the dealer now for a symptom like this at 12k

If i was to describe it, from a cold start hard shift sound into reverse, backing out of the driveway wheels are turned left, after being fully straight or in the back out stage it feels as if there is a board stuck to a wheel. Clicking comes from front right when doing slow circles left, and straight reverse there is a rotational clunk that feels at front and possibly transferred through the body to the rear.

Thought i had a rock or something like that in a tread and assuming it is a ujoint binding or drive shaft. I do not experience the clunk feeling driving forward and is only a clicking in slow turns.

Seems like same issues you guys are sharing.
