come on dude.....$50k to put a $15k engine/trans in a truck? It's 2 days of work for 2 guys. We all know it.
its not 50K first of all, second you dont have to buy it, third this country is based on capatalism, either you want it and have the means or you dont have the means, fourth, yes it may be a little high, but this is basic economics, supply and demand, they have the product, Jeep doesnt.

i enjoy my AMW swap every day...smiles per gallon

Gotta love when people don't realize how R&D and overhead costs works. Now the fact FCA charges so much for a 392 Wrangler is another story.

Parts design? Wrangler has a 392. Jeep did all the work. Other than a longer driveshaft and minor ancillary things.. what 'new parts' are needed?
These v8 swaps were being done long before Jeep made a Wrangler 392.
Lots of videos online showing the process of V8 jeep conversions.

Might want to give them a call they're super responsive on Facebook too. I'm working on gathering parts right now for a 392 swap in to the jk

I've done over two dozen bastard engine swaps in my life. I currently own eight, running, driving vehicles. 5 of them have engines not available in them as built.

Always delighted to see how easy peasy it is to just slap em on in there from folks driving around with stock power trains 😂

Well this will be my first engine swap so I hope it goes well haha. I actually was gonna do it on a 2 wheel drive 07 but I got a screaming deal on a 2012 in orange and sold the 07 to my niece as a first car.

I'm refering to these guys,

The, "all you gotta do" guys.

You're about to find out, in truth, what all you gotta do. And even with a comprehensive kit, it's substantial.

For my build all I have to do hand over the truck to the transport driver, and wait for it to get swapped and returned to me.

Well, that and sign the checks to pay for it, LOL.

OK, so the size of the 5.7 and 6.4 are about the same. But would the 5.7 get significantly better gas mileage? I mean, the window stickers on the Wranglers (Moab) with the 6.4 get combined 14mpg. And that's in a Wrangler. I wonder what it would get in a heavier Gladiator?

I don't care what the 6.4 can do, cure diseases, raise the dead, or whatever. But there is no way I would buy anything that in this day and age get 12 or 13 mpg. Maybe the 5.7 is better, and I mean, much better. I don't know.

Otherwise, I'll kiss my 18-19 mpg 3.6 every day.
Probably not more than ~2 mpg better, if that, BUT... it will run on standard 87 octane gas. No premium gasoline needed. To me, that is a HUGE draw.

18mpg in a 3.6....

How? Stock Mojave.... 14. I can get 18 if I drive 65mph for 2 hours on a flat freeway.
