So, has anyone tried to dye the stitching?
It is red with the cloth or black leather and looks like silver?? with the saddle leather.
I saw a Sting Gray JL with painted dash panels. Looked great, but what about the stitching?
Worried either color stitch would look dirty in short order....

I already have the red and black leather combo on my 06gto. Haven't fully decided on color yet but some colors just don't match and would drive me nuts. Orange for example. But maybe silver or black I'd go with the red. From overland down you lose the red dash so there's alot of factors for when I would love the red dash and when id hate it

Derik in parts at Peterson in Nampa told me he had a local shop dying all of the red stitching black for a customer. Sounded like it was going to cost a pretty penny. I ordered dark saddle seats to avoid all the red and I'm very happy with the decision. Looks dope.

I'm hoping by the time I can order a JT that there will be some aftermarket way to change the color. I like cloth seats so I have a hard time spending the extra cash just for a different color dash.
I've seen a few JLs where the owner just wrapped the existing dash parts in vinyl. Much cheaper than a new part and you can get creative with the color/finish if you want. Looked great on the ones I saw.

I dig it. I hope it comes on my Punk'n. The Gladiator configurator shows Punk'n with a red dash, but Punk'n JLs get silver, so we'll see...

I will very likely just order standard black cloth interior, and get good seat covers. I will dye the stitching on the steering wheel, if it looks good I will repeat on the shifter boots. You could always order boots that have black stitching, and get the steering wheel recovered.
If you get leather there is a lot more of the stuff, spreads like kudzu...

Do seat covers play nice with the side airbags?
I think they would have to since FCA dealers sell Katzkin kits. I debated ordering cloth and then getting a really nice Katzkin setup with heated and ventilated seats and massagers. Was going to cost the same as the factory leather based on my quote. Decided to just roll the dice with saddle though and not have to worry about the dash.

I got the saddle interior because I liked the look of it better, plus no red dash which I figured would get old. No looking back.

That's good info. Wonder how much. Wonder if I could buy a black dye pen and do it myself??? Would hate to mess up the leather on the steering wheel/shift boots/door panels because the dye bled over from the stitching. An artist I am not.

Agreed: Love the saddle leather/silver dash - but didn't want to pony up the extra $ because of stitching color. I like the cloth enough...
Thanks for the input.

He was thinking $1500 for the dye job. That’s more than a new Katzkin set installed. Some people have a lot of money and aren’t particularly concerned with how it is spent.

Holy crap! $1,500. Wow.
Well, then it makes a ton of sense to get the saddle leather if you can't live with the red.
See, just justified another $1,495 on the JT!!
I've seen pictures, but can anyone comment on how light the stitching is with the saddle?

If you ordered a Rubicon and in either black leather or cloth, then you’ll get the Red dash. I ordered cloth on my Punk’n and can’t wait to see it! Red and Orange go hand in hand so it won’t be bad at all and the dash red is kind of matte looking which makes it even better! I can always wrap it later on if I choose to.
