Installed the ACE Rock Sliders today. I was very nervous after hearing about some of the horror stories, especially on the JL, about breaking a body mount bolt. But I watched their videos, used a 25 inch breaker bar, took my time, and they came out no problem. Didnt use any heat or an impact wrench. As you can see from the pictures, the bolts are double threaded, which I wasn't expecting, and they make a lot of creaking and popping sounds to begin with until you get those short threads by the head of the bolt undone. After that it's a piece of cake. You do have to push down on the washer to keep a little pressure on the bolt to get it off. Love the way they look, they are very well built, and very sturdy.

^^^ What is the function of vent visors? I’ve never had them on any of my vehicles?
i know some people that smoke who like them. Sucks the smoke out of the car but don't get rained on.

Dental floss, then some heat to remove the remaining tape/residue. The new emblem covers the factory alignment holes.
i used 25lb fishing line. don't know how you got it to work with dental floss, mine kept snapping over and over. Damn near made my fingers bleed!

Crap, somewhere I also detailed how I filled in the holes with epoxy and wet sanded it before vinyl wraping the tailgate, but like @TTEChris said, his new emblem covers the factory alignment holes if you wanna go that route.

Not sure those are threads by the head of the bolt - look more like ridges to lock the washer on the bolt.
What do you mean by double threaded? I always think of double threaded as the same as cross threaded. Did they all have blue lock tight or did some have red?

Traveled to VA to visit family.

Had a great time hanging out with my teenage nephew who helped with mounting my Warn Winch Plate and Warn EVO VR-12S winch.

Great to see young kids with a wrench in their hands - just wish they did grow so much taller than me... ha!

Looked like the longer threads on the end threaded into the body and the small threads by the head threaded into the rubber bushings that the body set on. So after the threads on the end come out of the body, the bolt will spin and you have to pull down on the washer to get them to thread into the few threads on the bushing. So basically it goes from being really tight, moderately tight, free spinning, then moderately tight again. If any of this make sense.

Industrial strength dental floss
Fishing line would have been better(if I had it) but with some patience it came off without breaking the floss too often. If I went to fast it would heat up the glue/tape and stick causing it to snap.

Installed the Synergy MFG Track Bar and Sector Shaft Brace today. While I did not have what I consider excessive steering wheel play, it did tighten it up about 70% or so but that will be subjective. Kind of on the fence if worth the $200 or so of coin. I will say to anyone else that considers it, expect to do some minor fitting of the Synergy Bracket holes due to manufacturing differences. The included instructions I would also consider just a guide as I had to play around with the step and bolt tightening sequence and minor hole fitting to get everything to line up.
