Finally got around to installing my Warn winch (VR EVO 10S). This was NOT straight forward. The instructions provided with the plate and winch or very rudimentary and there are definitely some errors/adjustments that need to be made for JT install. 5.5 hours later though it all came together. Really happy with how seemless it seems to integrate into the factory steel bumper. Kept the black and red theme going with a Factor 55 Flatlink.

@MarkO . I think this look fits your ride! #clean

Finally swapped out the factory 5 inch to Kenwoods DMX7706s. I really missed android auto/CarPlay lol Installed myself with Metra dash kit & idatalink maestro rr/ch3 harness to retain steering controls, vehicle info, and temp gauges (also keeps climate control for those that have it). Gotta figure out which two canbus ports to use behind the glove box to get gauges to work but everything else works great. I have currently lost my rear view camera due to no adapter being available, but I knew that going in. I’ll give them a bit longer To drop an adapter before I throw a nicer aftermarket on. Factory speakers do sound much better, but they will still be getting replaced With 6.5 inch speakers soon!

EDIT: Found the manual for the alpine vehicle specific install, it definitely had better instructions. For anyone else that installs with the base radio, you can plug the male connector from the maestro to vehicle harness into the top left port of the green canbus junction box (begins glovebox). The second (female) connector that’s on the maestro harness is only used if there is a connector plugged in that matches colors. In that case, you would replace the existing connection with the male connector on harness, then plug the oem connector into the female connector on the harness. Hope this helps someone else!

OK4WD did the lift on my first Jeep. They were the only shop I trusted for a long time to do any major work on my Jeep. Honest, extremely experienced, and a big shop. But they are very far for me, so now I go to No Excuses in New Egypt NJ any additional work on my Jeep. Guy specializes in Jeeps. It’s a small garage. Friendly, honest, reasonably priced.

OK4WD in Stewartsville. They’re the only shop I’ll use if I’m not doing the work myself. This is the third Jeep they’ve worked on for me and they always do great work.

Tell the sales manager, Mike Rauch, that I sent you :)

Super cool -- I regret not getting the 7" radio on mine, so I'd like to do this someday. What was the all-in cost if you don't mind me asking? I'm not too keen on losing the backup camera, though, but I assume adapters are forthcoming.

My mileage reimbursement for work will come in handy this Friday. Ordering a Bestop Sunrider Black Twill on Friday. Bestop has a $100 rebate if purchased before Feb 29, plus I get 10% through Northridge 4x4 with the "Litebrite" discount, and free shipping. Makes a $849 top, $665 +tax after discount and rebate, and adds 66 additional entries into their Gladiator giveaway too. Too good a deal to pass up. I'll post pictures next week once it arrives. Local Northridge 4x4 center doesn't have it in stock at the moment, or at least last week when I checked.
What is the litebrite discount?

I knew I would replace mine with aftermarket, I plan to add a 4 channel amp, 6.5 inch speakers, and a sub over time, which Is why I opted to stick with the base radio package. The fun part is finding a head unit you like, thats thin enough to fit in the dash. Here is a screenshot of the parts from Crutchfield, you’ll need these regardless of which headunit you choose. Crutchfield will help show you compatible headunits that will fit, but the one I purchased is currently sold out!

Nice! Thanks for the details.

I checked out their site and it says that the backup camera function would be retained -- did you have to talk to somebody for them to tell you that it wouldn't?

Yeah, I'd imagine the tight curves would be a major PITA to get perfectly smooth. I can barely put a sticker on a window without fighting with bubbles!

Nice custom touch, I like it. :like:
