RE If it’s on the internet or eBay it’s got to be legit
I've been buying and selling things on EBAY since Jenuary 1999.
I hope that statement was sarcasm.
Their are plenty of scammers on EBAY. I reported one just this week.

From the Ebay listing of the bumper

Brand: Unbranded
Country/Region of Manufacture: Unknown
Manufacturer Part Number: GNT56215151
UPC: 768067212551

A quick google search of bothe the part number and the
UPC comes up empty except for the EBAY listing.

Which is why I think it is a knockoff and stealing Jeep's IP. Those who proclaim to love their Jeeps should not be stealing Jeep's property. But anything to save a buck, am I right?

Not always. Swindlers sometimes get away with maybe a day, or only a couple hours before eBay finds out and takes them down.

Speaking from experience.
You'd be surprised. Sometimes even big corporations don't notice someone is knocking off their product for years. Just like some folks with lots of land don't notice squaters who then claim adverse possession and win.

I found this steel rubicon bumper ad on ebay. It's selling for $435. (comes with winch guard) It looks exactly like the Mopar Factory rubicon bumper.
Is it Legit?
Has anyone purchased it before?

I've read mixed opinions after purchase about this one. Some people say good, some not.

Same market for luxury branded lifestyle accessories. Is it really a knockoff if its a blem or second from the same factory making the first run item.

If i was making bumpers for cotract and a given amount weren't accepted for cosmetics, do i just scrap them for salvage or do I hustle the side know a large fraction of the jeep community is in the by any means necessary camp of getting things done. Missing some bolts, thats what welders are for, gouged up powder coat? Line X baby. Tweaked? A few rocks later and it might just lay dead true now. Unless its beyond useable its not getting melted.

Look, if you have to ask is this a knock off, youre shopping the wrong listing. If you feel bad for FCAs IP and the money they wont be makinging, reassess your relationship because they are skirting the line between pig and hog, pigs get fed and hogs get slaughtered.

We will just have to disagree. Theft is theft. The fact is honest businesses get authorization to sell blemed items at a heavy discount, and get to even say that they are blemed "brand" item. See it in the gun industry all the time.

Because of the lack of info on the item, this is either some factory stealing the design (US patent D878976 most likely). From what I can recall the Mopar bumpers are made in the USA (could me mistaken, fairly certain I saw it when I installed mine), so this isn't just some factory in China deciding to make a few extra and sell them to an unauthorized distributor. But, I could be wrong. Just doesn't sit right with me going this route. I got a JL takeoff for $525 shipped instead.

Im not saying its right or good and im not supporting it but it is happening. Dealerships are in the business of making money and one key way is parts sales and they mark already inflated prices.

Many people are going to seek out cost effective solutions and this sure looks like one of them. Id much rather support the circular economy and buy what you dont need or pick it from salvage but thats not always the option.

It took a while but I learned my lesson with buying knock off China junk. I bought a lot of motorcycle accessories and of course off-road stuff over the years and the lesson I learned is the China junk looks the part ! it looks the color it’s shiny it looks almost exactly like the real thing but it rarely functions the same. They use different materials different anodizing processes the tolerances aren’t there. I’m just not giving my money anymore to those companies off shore from ebay or amazon. Or company's like Extreme terrain. Junk.

I actually bought this, and as far as I can tell legit parts, I had to add the Mopar winch facia with cut out and it fit perfect as well as the plastic fog light bezels w/o parking sensor holes and they snapped in just as well. this also came with winch mounting plate which was an added bonus. The outer removable endcaps have the sensor holes as well however I have mine set up as a stubby.
bolted on just fine and is sturdy.
I was just a skeptical but figured what the hell.

I ordered it and its sitting in my garage half put together. I elmailed them Sunday requesting instructions as none were included. The site states replies with 24hrs.
Overall looks to be good quality and it completes the look.

If it’s on the internet or eBay it’s got to be legit but no I have saw this also and I am wondering the same thing
I have the steel bumper on my Launch Edition and this one looks very close to the same except for a lot of extra holes. There are two holes above the winch knockout plate that are not on the OEM and six other large holes that might be used for proximity sensors if your vehicle has that system.

for those concerned with the lack of instructions, there are downloadable instructions from MOPAR at the BAM site mentioned on about post 80ish

So i added the eBay Rubicon sttle bumper yesterday. Below is my opinion on the product.
PROS:
packaged very well and organized. All parts sorted and packed together
Extreamly configurable.

CONS:
Lack of instructions
Bumper is not powder coated but painted black
Tow hooks are only painted red.
The color red is off
Setup uses four studs monted in the tow hooks. Top left stud of the right tow hook does not allign with the bumper mounts. Required drilling out the bumper slightly.
