Fed Ex finally delivered my extra Launch Edition rim. Swapped the steel rim for this, and now have 5 wheels in the tire rotation pattern. I'm a firm believer to keep a matching spare in rotation with the others, less likely you'll forget about it and have a dry rotted tire that barely gets a mile down the road when you actually need it.

Already installed. Now just need to shine it up like the others.

$249.55 through AllMoparParts.com. Got free shipping and it arrived in about a week.

Edit: part number for the rim. 6KC88RXFAA

Fun project today.
  • Drilled a 1-3/8" hole in my Nuthouse Nutshell box, inserted rubber cable grommet
  • Routed ARB fridge power cable up through the grommet into the Nutshell
  • Put Jackery 500 power pack in the Nutshell. Plugged the ARB into the Jackery DC port; then plugged the Jackery into the Gladiator's bed outlet
Now the fridge will be powered 24/7 by the Jackery, which itself will charge from the Gladiator's bed outlet when the truck is on.

I was glad to see the Jackery pulls 80W from the Gladiator bed outlet, which matched what it pulled from my house wall socket. Should fully charge in about 6-7 hours, and from that charge it will run the fridge for about 2+ days.

Very happy with this self-contained, weatherproof setup.

Leaving for 2 weeks in the San Juans on July 31. Can. Not. Wait.

How did you secure the Jackery? I was thinking of a similar setup.

What is the advantage of something like this over just going Line-X? Is it just less cost?
Less cost is one advantage. A second is I can throw my freedom tops in the bed (in the case) and they stay put and have some cushion. Based on my intended use of the bed I like the soft, tacky, feel.

I have the WeatherTech bed liner, which is very similar. Like yours, it too covered the drains in the bed, which makes no sense to me. I don’t want to potentially have water pooled in the bed, so I put holes in the floor of my liner, right over the drains. Something to consider...
The WeatherTech was on my list but I wanted to stay away from the stick-on velcro fasteners. Probably not a real issue, but I've had problems with stick-on velcro in the past. I may still get the WT tailgate pad as the Smartliner does not have a tailgate option.

yeah I didn’t want to attach with Velcro either. Smartliner has been working great so far for me and my uses as well.

have you tried some aftermarket pads first?
higher friction coefficient pads (higher mu), can work wonders!

Yeah, I am pretty irritated about it. My brakes SUCK when I haul anything over 3500 lbs. Next option is like 4k with Woodward or Brembo. Yeesh!!

The dealer has been great about it....and said we could give it a try but once they go on....Im paying the bill so its like....wth do I do. Give them a try and then take it up with FCA if they suck?!

Well, then you’re not going to like the tailgate liner either. It uses the heavy duty Velcro fasteners as well, in addition to mounting under the series of screws toward the top of the tailgate. I have no problems using the Velcro as I don’t really ever intend to take it off or replace it. I just wanted something inexpensive that protected the bed and tailgate when I slide things in and out of it. I have had generic bed mats in other trucks and didn’t care for the weight or material. This works well for me and will be protected under my Tonneau cover. However, I still think the design should be changed to allow for proper drainage. I shouldn’t have to put holes in it, which I did.

Of course I finally see a photo of the Access tonneau 2 days after I ordered the JCR rack. LOL
I kept thinking the Rebel might allow me to squeeze that cover in, but I didn't want to risk buying it to be 100% wrong.

Update 7-5-20: The shiny dead pedal dominated the view when opening the door, so I thought I would subdue it a little. I cut out a small sliver on the lower left side. Visually, it makes it appear to follow the contour of the left side kick panel.

I then gave it a couple coats of bed liner (Duplicolor).

Then, I sanded the tops of the diamond pattern to give it some contrast.
20200704_190749a.jpg

Much better without the dead pedal taking up so much of the shiny attention.

If it was worthwhile for you to fabricate I would be first in line to purchase one. Nice job!!

Took the doors off for the first time a few days ago, woo! First time driving without the doors was a bit intimidating, but now doing 70 on the highway is no problem, except some noise lol. My mirrors are cheapo Amazon Chinese mirrors and work ok for slower speeds, but push towards the vehicle at around 40mph+, making them token mirrors. Already bought better rubber washers and tightened the mirrors down a bit, don't want to tighten then too much and damage the hinge.
