Auto JTR Towing capacity more than 7000lbs?

I have a loaded Overland without towing package.
Max payload is 1060 and max towing is 4910. It’s not an issue now but is there anything I can add to the truck in the future to raise the max towing?

With neither tow package from the factory, you don’t have the larger cooling system. That’s the toughest thing to change.

You would need to upgrade the cooling system, the alternator, the rear springs, add a receiver, and manually wire in a trailer brake controller.

Regardless of any upgrades, if there were any legal issues, such as a major accident while towing, the numbers on the door label would be the ones used by the authorities and/or the insurance companies.

This would be my biggest concern. Your insurance company would leave you holding the bag in an accident without a second thought.

Watch insurance closely - they used other companies to deal with values, numbers, etc. - and those other companies even with a VIN can SCREW UP what you had. I fought and fought for a month when my father was killed- they had the bloody VIN and still kept telling me it was a long box truck with the longer wheelbase and undervalued the thing thousands. Even with the VIN and pictures I sent of the numbers and the tags and the speedometer, they got it wrong. So don't assume they'll even do it right with those stickers.

I will never understand a 5-passenger pickup truck with only 1,000 lbs of payload. That basically forces you to pick between carrying passengers or towing/hauling. But you can't do both and that's ridiculous.

My auto JTR that has every option shows:

Basic JTR only a few options (hard top, cold weather, auto, tow package) shows 1245 payload and 7445 towing. Looking at getting a roomier trailer for camping and looked the other day at the tag doing the math in my head I figured towing around 7400 using GVWR - payload on the sticker = 5k lbs and GCWR - 5k was 7400 and some change.
As stated earlier though, by the time I subtract the weight of my winch and bumper, me, the wife, the dogs... I’m under 7k capacity.

I was curious about this when they gave me the info at the dealership - I assumed that the system was just in error and didn't bother to check the door sticker. Not that I think I'll get anywhere near the maximum towing capacity. But here's my info:

Are you sure it's off? That's within a few pounds of what shows for my Overland.
