Dropped mine off on Saturday (8/29) with the service department of the dealer from which I purchased.
Conversation with the service advisor (SA) elictited their response that they were aware of the TSB and that of all the JT's they have sold, they have had only had 1 other complaint to date.

I replied that I really found that hard to believe or that those other owners are unware an issue might actually exist.

My description of the issue to the SA continued with included statements of having driven other JT's both with and without the problem, as well as having someone else drive my JT, and then adding the phrase "fearful of my safety while driving on the interstate while working abnormally hard to maintain my lane alignment."

The tech looked at it yesterday (8/31) and confirmed there was indeed something amiss that matched my description of the issue. The part was ordered and should be available today (9/1). As far as the bolts go, I am not yet aware of their status / availability for my replacement task.

I'm looking forward to checking out the repair results.

Soo Jeep wave says it’ll cover a same day rental... wonder if that applies to this?

Yes my dealership used it for both the diagnostic and just gave me one to do the repair. Make sure you tell them you have the jeep wave for cause they'll have to make sure they have one.

Maybe this has been addressed. I took mine in and they ordered the parts. I checked the parts number in the order and they ordered 68418449AE for the gear. The TSB called for part number 68507576AA. I looked that up on Mopar and it can’t be found. One interesting Thing however, the Mopar site says 68418449AE replaces 68418449AD. So did my dealer order the right one or the old aluminum one.

I am fairly certain that your dealer ordered the old part number. That is the part number on my steering gear and it has not been changed yet.

Im afraid of that but 68507576AA is not a valid part number. All the new bolt numbers are found but not that part. I guess I’ll have to call those jokers.

Can’t hurt to call them and let them know the part number INDICATED AS ORDERED is not the same as the p/n referenced on the TSB.

All of that has been indicated multiple times in this thread.
The old part is in an aluminum housing and would be silver - but dirty in some cases, so you have to look closely. The new one is steel and will be blackish - a dull black in most cases if it's black phosphate as normally used to protect steel and iron castings.
Just because you can't find or look up the number doesn't mean the dealer can't. I have found dealers have different channels, ways to find things only available to them in some cases.
Not sure where you looked but not finding it doesn't mean it's not there.

Dozens have had the correct new part installed and so far no one has gotten the old part.
In fact, I'd bet the old part has been PULLED as is standard practice.

i had the parts department verify the new steering gear was delivered. Didn't catch all the numbers but the new one does end in AA. AE is the old aluminum steering gear.

I hope. Like I said I called the service department and the tech said he ordered the right part.

Check with the parts guy. He can pull the order and check the number for you.
