I know there're answers mixed in all of these posts, but looking for some quick timeframes. I had my service department agree that I needed the TSB fix over a month ago. I was told that they ordered the parts and waiting on a date from Mopar/FCA. They told me this for several weeks then gave me a date of 12/20. I called today to set it up and they told me that Mopar/FCA told them there are no parts available and they will give an update when they are. I've seen a mix of people on here ranging from months to a week or 2 to get parts in and installed. As a side note, they said they have no one else waiting for the TSB at this dealership so no allocation waitlist there. So can those that have had it completed let me know how long from when dealership agreed it needed to be done until the parts came in for them? Has anybody began this process and gotten the parts all within the past month or so? I'm just trying to figure out if I'm getting the run around or if there really are no parts available again. Thanks.

2 weeks. They never said there was a shortage or any other BS. Only that they have not performed this repair yet. Originally they said parts would take a month, but actually only took 2 weeks. And they only took less than 2 hours to install. Less than what the book said! This should be standard for everyone. Not sure why all the runarounds and lengthy installs. Its a simple repair.

Timing depends on how big the dealership is, and if it is in a larger urban area. The bigger the dealer and bigger the city - the longer the waitlist is. Even if the dealership is larger, they are still restricted from FCA on only being allowed to order the TSB kit.

Smaller dealerships have less customers, so they can get the parts installed quicker.

At least that's my observation from all the previous posts. Getting jeepcares involved can speed this process up.

Dealership did a good job also, I feel bad for them with the struggle to get parts, FCA just needs to make it a recall and get it done.
FCA needs to make parts availability to service the vehicles they sell a priority, recall or not.
Ask the people that waited a long time for the Takata air bag recall, the Ram pinion nut recall, the minivan power quarter window recall, etc. Even for recalls, FCA hasn't been great on supplying parts.

I had mine done at a small SW Michigan dealer ... To this day, I am the only Jeep that they have done or have had a request for ...

Mine took 2.5 months to get parts ...

When I had mine done the wait on parts approximately 2 weeks, dealer took all day to do it and was not happy with the finished product, fluid everywhere, overfilled reservoir steering wheel off center and don’t feel the new steering box was all that helpful...should have left alone. Problem where I live is all the dealers are highly incompetent and fear of any problems that may arise in future I am doomed to deal with idiots. Makes me want to consider going back to Toyota.

still waiting on window seal to have fixed from a long time ago from 2 different dealers but fear bringing it anywhere, I would rather get parts and do it myself.

Just picked my Gladiator up from the dealer. Wow, what a difference the replacement box made! My Gladiator didn’t have the worst example of the TSB issues, but the replacement definitely resolved my issues. My gladiator now tracks properly in its lane without constant adjustments and there was about a 1” dead spot in the top of the steering that is now gone. Overall the steering feels much tighter and more controlled. Thanks to @JeepCares for facilitating the replacement parts!

Note: for anyone following my saga the popping I had reported to the dealer when I dropped the truck off turned out to be loose suspension bolts. The service advisor couldn’t tell me which ones... I’m curious to know if loose suspension bolts are common and something I should be checking on regularly?

I was put on a list to have it replaced with the earliest time being next year. I contacted Jeep Cares and they were able to get the parts to my dealer and repaired in a matter of 3 1/2 weeks (from making contact to getting the replacement performed). You may want to send a PM to them to get some movement for your repair.

Thanks. I sent @JeepCares a message on here yesterday, hoping to hear back.

Update: Finally got my JTR back this morning and drove it around town highway and back roads. And got to say WOW. Its a huge difference on how it drives and feels. I am more confident on the roads and that dead space is practically gone. Its much more responsive when turning. I have to take it back Monday. My steering wheel is no longer centered so they will fix that then. Go get it done.

Got my Gladiator steering issue done yesterday....... I was the 3rd one that they did in the same day. Waited about 4 weeks to be called, that the parts were in. They spent about 2.5 hours on it. WOW, there is a big difference, especially when towing a 16' Airstream. I now have a nice steady wheel and not making so many corrections when the wind blows or a tractor - trailer tries to blow me off the road. I am a Happy Camper :) Bob

My JT has been there for 1.5 weeks. Just got a call that they don't have the right bolts and will have them on Tuesday. It will have been two weeks to do a 2 hour job! WTF!??!

My Gladiator had the new steer gear installed a couple days ago. I will say up front that my steering was not bad or pretty darn good before the install. Since then, I have driven about 100 miles on the new steering gear. I have driven on city & residential road, secondary windy routes, the interstate at 65-70 MPH and even off road (dirt, gravel & mud). It is defiantly an improvement. The higher the speed limit the more you notice the improvement. Don't hesitate and schedule the replacement. To comment on the time from start to finish, I would say it "all depends". I think we will see improvement or maybe I should say hopefully we will see improvement in the turn around times.
