Finally got around to installing the second rear tow hook...
Once I had the bumper removed, it looked to me that it (the bumper) was designed to snap together, but not simply snap apart!
So I used a Roto-Zip and a file to open up the hole. I think it looks OK.
Anybody want the stock trim piece with the factory hole already in it?

Kevin
The OEM cut out is a challenge to install for sure.
But, it looks like you got a nice clean cut in yours?

If I find an inexpensive hook take-off I'd put the second hook on mine...........
You have an extra trim piece??
I bought one thinking I'd use it instead of cutting a hole.
The bumper turned out to be more of a challenge than I had time to tackle, so I cut a hole instead of using the trim piece. So, if someone wants to cover shipping charges on an unwrapped trim piece (it's really light,) it's theirs.

New bumper... plugs are on order
Pretty easy install, wasn't it?
The plugs had to be tapped in with a mallet - so they'll not come out easily and are a great match for the bumper itself.

What's shipping? I'm game.

The thing they listed as a "recall" wasn't technically - they called it that on the invoice. I went for an oil change, they said my VIN was listed for a PCM flash - I said do it (seeing the issues others were having, what the heck)
Supposedly the PCM thing was to deal with EGR issues, that sort of thing.

Funny a FLAT glass would be an issue when Grand Cherokee, Ram, Compass, etc. all have differing compound curve to their front glass.
But - it makes sense that suddenly a 2020 model year had something added instead of waiting to include it with the 2021 model year.

Also odd that it shows up as ready/enabled on the cluster when I start it, it's simply not an option in the radio screen.
If I start it in my dark garage, headlights set to auto, dimmer set to high beam, it comes up with auto high beam enabled. If I flip the lever again to go to low beam, it says auto high beam disabled - EXACTLY like the later owner manual shows it would do.
So the BCM is aware, it's showing me ready, or disabled, on the cluster. Only the radio doesn't show a place to check a box for it.
But then that makes sense in another way, too - include it - sort of - but don't let it be enabled in the radio.

Now, how to convince the dealer to update my system........... show them the message on the cluster and then show them it's not showing up in the radio?
Its my understanding it uses the front trail camera for this. I installed my own, enabled it with the jscan app but still nothing. I get the same messages when I switch them on and off, which is probably the same before I made any changes. I think it just means you switched it.

I thought auto high beam used the camera array at the top of the windshield.
The auto lights uses the photosensor nub on the top of the dashboard.

Well I have the adaptive cruise and auto beams have never worked. Then I read on here somewhere that you need the camera

Nope - it uses the same array (camera and radar setup) that the ACC and forward collision warning uses. IF you don't have ACC and FCW, you can't have auto high beams.

You have multiple things to set, not just "enable". Not sure jscan can even do it all.

I don't have either, so it could well be that it uses the trail cam.
But think about it for a minute. You'd want the camera for the Auto High Beam to be up high, so that it could see oncoming traffic as soon as possible. If it were in the grille, it wouldn't see traffic soon enough to switch fast enough to prevent blinding the other drivers.

Can you share your experience installing front receiver? Many members have problem properly fitting it on a Rubicon. Thanks. Here's the link https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/threads/front-hitch-receiver.24377/
I had a receiver on mine until I installed the steel bumper. It wasn't the bumper but were those rivnuts and the skid plate brackets that made it so I could no longer fit the receiver between the two frame rails. The rivnuts stick out, then the brackets go onto those and now you have about .25" less space between frame rails and the receiver no longer fits. Leave out those nuts, leave off the skid plate lower/rear brackets and you would probably be ok.

I mentioned to my wife about the hassle of plowing snow and joked about a blade on the truck and she said "I told you last fall you should put a blade on the front of your truck"

I didn't feel like explaining that my wanting to have a steel bumper and winch on the front meant I had to remove the receiver and was sort of screwed now until I find another way to get a receiver in there.
