The objective of the air system is to have an integrated solution which provides enough continuous pressure to power air tools and provide easily accessible air for filling tires.
I also don’t want to take away from inside storage, and I knew nothing about air systems before I started
I built the system around dual Viair 485c compressors, and started with the Maximus 3 air cradle.
I routed the air lines into the engine bay to keep the inlets clean and mapped the unregulated air line into the driver side cowl through the drain where the windshield wiper motors live.
Maximus was supposed to have inlet brackets, but I called and emailed and they never really got back to me. I also found that their air cradle’s powder coating failed after only a few months :/ So I’ve been fabricating my own parts moving forward.
After trying different mounting options, I ended up using the viair manifold which I bolted into the press seam under the cowl. From there, just brave drilling.
The regulated air is in the bed, where I sunk a 200 psi inlet regulator into the side of the bed and attached an outlet to my bed side molle panels.
