The objective of the air system is to have an integrated solution which provides enough continuous pressure to power air tools and provide easily accessible air for filling tires.

I also don’t want to take away from inside storage, and I knew nothing about air systems before I started :)

I built the system around dual Viair 485c compressors, and started with the Maximus 3 air cradle.

I routed the air lines into the engine bay to keep the inlets clean and mapped the unregulated air line into the driver side cowl through the drain where the windshield wiper motors live.

Maximus was supposed to have inlet brackets, but I called and emailed and they never really got back to me. I also found that their air cradle’s powder coating failed after only a few months :/ So I’ve been fabricating my own parts moving forward.

After trying different mounting options, I ended up using the viair manifold which I bolted into the press seam under the cowl. From there, just brave drilling.

The regulated air is in the bed, where I sunk a 200 psi inlet regulator into the side of the bed and attached an outlet to my bed side molle panels.

I haven’t decided what I’m doing with the fenders yet. I quite like the aluminum fenders from Genright, but want to see what the wheels distance looks like once I’ve swapped out the current wheels and moved to 37s.

As for why I did the liners. The aluminum liners provide nice inner tire tuck and are easy to remove to take things apart.

I think you are right on the wheels. Right now I’m leaning toward the Method 703s with Toyo Open Country RT. They are going to be pushing it on backspacing, but hopefully they will work.

Will get to the air system next :)
Looking at the same wheel but waiting for the +25mm offset 5.78 BS spec to come out. That or I read AEV is coming out with the JT spec of the Salta wheels

I like what you are doing with the outlet - mimics the Wayout concept which has the outlet in the same location.... using what looks like the drivers cowling from the electric Wrangler...

Well you seem to have it under control better than a lot of people that jump on here. Really great job. One of best things is rock Rails or side of protection if just for A## Holes slamming their doors into the sides. :like: :like: :like: in fact the only reason I swapped out the Rubicon rails I got from a friend for Overland steps.... Until I break down and get solid rack rails.

I mentioned I was trying alternative mounting ideas because the Maximus air plate wasn’t quite working out here is the current set up. It’s a 1/4 inch plate cut to fit the cross beam.

The compressors tuck nicely out of the way, and they are protected by the skid plate and frame.

I doubt I’ll keep it here, but fun experiment.

Attached the Shrockworks sliders tonight. I definitely recommend a floor jack. Even with my husbands help, these things were a lot of steel to move around. I was really impressed with the installation though. Well thought out hardware.

I test fit these before sending to be coated due to the previous installation of the skid plates. There was one tab I cut off, I’ll show a picture. It doesn’t appear to have effected the integrity of the install, but I may drill and tap a new hole to replace it after I find some flush mount bolts for under the frame.

Here is the cut. That lower part is supposed to go in the bolt where the skid is mounted.

All looks well thought out, with the best components. Like I said before, nicely done.

I reinstalled the powder coated motobilt molle panels tonight. They mount behind the trail rails and with 3 bolts into the bed of the truck on each side. I used rivnuts to make the bottom attachment points a little easier.

Also installed the bumper supports for the rear genright bumper. These required a little cutting inside the body panel. I cut a 2 inch notch out which was more than enough for a clean install.

The last 3 weeks have included a bit of problem solving to make the perfect, to me, exhaust.

First off, I bought the MBRP high clearance exhaust. I picked that one because I like that it tucks up and out of the way. My goal was losing weight, adding clearance, and keeping highway noise down.

The install was easy. Couple cuts with a sawzall and the old exhaust was gone. That thing is big and heavy!

Got the new exhaust on with only a little cutting on the bracket for my mud flaps. In the garage it sounded fun. On the highway.... annoying.

Now, I’ve done full sound proofing on the floor and the hard top. The drone was present between 2k and 2.5k and it could be heard very clearly over music.

So, a little research and asking a couple other gear head friends landed on trying either a J-pipe or hemholtz, or go with a resonator. Since the idea in the first place was to clear up space for other projects under the truck, I tried the resonator first. Heard good things about vibrant performance, so I tried their ultra quiet resonator.

It mounted beautifully right in front of the muffler and I was able to reuse all the pipe that came with the MRBP kit. Highway test was a complete success! I would venture to say it’s even quieter in 7th and 8th than the stock exhaust, but still lets out a nice grumble when accelerating.

It’s nice when things work out :)

I’m having resonance issues with my exhaust after I installed my LRA additional fuel tank and came across you thread. I’m ordering the Vibrance resonator and hope it works.
‘Thanks!

Good luck! I’ve heard a few people say that mounting before the muffler has more of an effect. I didn’t notice much of a difference, but only tested in the garage.
