Since you don't have the Max Tow with wider axles, put on a Rubicon take-off suspension and add 35s maybe? I got 35x12.5x17 to fit on my Sport S with Max Tow without a lift. Swapped for Rubicon fender flares but they were not needed even when wheeling.

No intention of lifting. I like the lower center of gravity
Do you disconnect the swaybar? Otherwise no rubbing with the 35's? Did you install the Rubicon flares before installing the 35's?

I don't disconnect the swabar, never had a need to. I could, easy enough to do.

I first put on the 35s with the stock fenders, as you can see. No rubbing side-to-side but on full articulation I got some rubbing, not much and I only had to go to that level once over a rock. When I came across a set of takeoff Rubicon flares for a good price I decided to upgrade. Made a thread on it discussing in more detail the results.

No lift here either, also would love some bigger tires. Have considered take offs - but around here asking price is ~$1100+. That's the cost of new tires that would come with warranty!

No idea where people seem to find take offs for $300-$600 lol

Yah, but not the rims or installation cost. $800 would be more reasonable for tires and wheels

After tax - I was quoted $1400 for 5 new tires, installed, balanced, and TPMS moved. It is a $300 difference, but I just can't justify take offs for $1100 (some I see right now are asking $1600!).

Are the wheels really worth that much?

I agree, I could swing around $800 for them.

O bought a set of Overland wheels and tires here on the forum. They had 400 miles on them. $250.00. They'll go on once I wear my factory ones out.

No plans to lift my Jeep either.

Non-lifted Rubicon, and no plans to lift. Here's a couple pics from my Death Valley trip a couple weeks ago. First, my girlfriend and I at the bottom of Lippincott Mine Trail, then making our way down the steps of Dedeckera Canyon. Fully capable in its stock form for how and where I wheel.

No, not worth it. Sport rims will work. Hell, I got 5 35" Falken tires with warranty for $1400 installed on OEM rims.

Will never lift my Mojave since stock is already so nice. That's one reason I went with the Mojave as I told my wife I wouldn't do any big mods if she'd let me get it. When it's time for new tires, I'll probably get 35s since I have the high fenders.
Yup...or one could always add a chop kit to the front fenders and gain even more room...if necessary. 35’s, fenders if necessary and I’m done. Mojave will do everything I need...STOCK.

People can do whatever they want to their rig, but for the life of me, I can’t figure out why people want front and rear lockers, a regear, a 3” lift and 37’s shoved under when they freely admit they’re only going to run fire roads or just to the mall...smh.

I only do practical mods. And a lift just isn’t practical for me. Likely is for some, true. Just not for me. Like others, when my factory 245-75-17s need replacing, I’ll go with something else. But no more than a 33.

Just get some good cheap Rubi Take off tires and rims. Swap them out. That is what I did on mine for relatively good price. Also got some Rubi take off shocks I swapped out on mine. Eventually will move to 35's when I burn these tires up but no plans to lift for the forseeable future. I'll just have to be that oddball on the road (LOL). I sold my factory tires for $250 and bought 4 Rubi Tires and rims for $700. Will change the whole look of your truck just changing the tires and rims
Wish I could find some Rubi take-offs. Lots of them on the coasts and down south but never any in Illinois

Add me to the Philistine listing. I bought my Rubicon for towing capacity and as a potential daily driver...because JTRs just look so danged awesome. Once I saw the Snazzberry color I was hooked. Never considered that people were going to increase its off-road worthiness. That said...I may eventually get a steel bumper and winch.

Literally doing everything on your list. I wheel this thing, hard.
