Just watched the above video and the black diamond package looks pretty great. No competition for the gladiator as it isn’t a truck. But the bronco is quite compelling vs wrangler imho.

Been there and done that. I was on that train for quite some time and had to get off when I got to the point I could not afford to wait any longer or chance any more delays. Especially with the chip shortage looming and the inevitable bugs they will need to work out of the platform so I chose to stay with another Jeep and pick that conversation back up in 3-4 years time.

Ordered the Mojave on 4/20 and will pick it up this week.

I can honestly say I have no regrets.

I wouldn't trade my gladiator either. But I need a bed and to be able to tow 7k lbs. I was just impressed with the package. Jeep has been alone in the wrangler segment for awhile. I think this will get interesting.

Yep, sticking with my gladiator....but have to admit that the bronco is pretty bad ass right out of the box.

I think Ford missed the bus.

They were late on bringing the Bronco back, even though it has been talked about for several years.

Then the timing of trying to introduce in the middle of the worldwide mess and raw material not available.

Pushing back delivery dates on people that put substantial amounts of money down.

When it's all said and done, probably only die hard blue oval fans will still be interested.
Like any other commodity, make the consumer wait too long and the demand is gone.

Competition is probably a good thing, as maybe Ford and Jeep will drive each other to make improvements that will benefit us that might not have happened otherwise? I like the Bronco as well, but I’m a diehard Jeep guy, and I like solid axles, if I’m not mistaken doesn’t the Bronco have IFS?

They lost a few buyers.

They will still sell all that they can make. People are fickle.

The Bronco (not to be confused with the Bronco Sport) seems to be what we call in the computer business, 'vaporware'. Technically, it's a piece of software that is touted and touted, for months, years, but never materializes. I think the same thing applies here. Unless I missed something, I've not seen anything to make me think that it exists, other than showing one at a car show here and there.

Check out the vids @sdk131 posted. The ifs doesn't seem to hold it back!

Same here. I've always been a Jeep guy, but I've concurrently owned a few Broncos over the years and enjoyed them as well. I was one of the first to order, and waited and waited and waited. Ford kept changing what you could and couldn't get, and when that would happen. I finally said forget it and bought my Mojave in April. I was never a fan of the Ford IFS, but thought I'd give it a shot and see how it worked. Maybe I'll try out the Bronco down the road, who knows.

they might lose a few buyers, but scarcity will increase demand amongst those that are completely invested in early adopting. these things are going to be impossible to attain off the lot and below msrp for a long time. there are plenty of people that want to off road their vehicles, but refuse to buy anything from the fca/stellantis because of quality control issues or toyota because they're outdated as hell. we should hope that the bronco actually pushes jeep to put out better products with a competitive price tag.

uhhmm...while it has been delayed numerous times it is absolutely real, and has started shipping to dealers about a week ago. There are also many youtube videos out there now from recent events where "real people" got to see/touch/ride in them.

Hard disagree from me. The Bronco offers 99% of what the average Jeep buyer wants in a much better package. These aren't the TJ days anymore and I'd throw down cash that the average Wrangler doesn't see any serious dirt until at least the second owner. Road manners matter and with more power, much better steering/suspension, and deeper gears to push large tires, the Bronco checks all the boxes that Jeep has failed to check for what matters to the mall crawler crowd that is the majority of new Jeep buyers.

Right now you're seeing preorders that is largely the blue oval fans and those who have to be first but once test drives start and barring any major issues, nobody in their right mind is going to pick the Jeep over the Bronco for any objective factor that isn't the solid axle. Looks, yes, but it's hard to argue when the Bronco was purposely built to be better than the Wrangler in nearly every way that matters to the average consumer.

Except there's an enormous auto plant producing them and footage from said plant available to anyone with an internet connection. ?

I doubt it.

The problem that Ford faced probably is something that will come out in 10-15 years and it'll be tied with the failed (or not failed, depending on your point of view) merger with Jag/Land Rover.

COVID whacked the hell out of everyone.

The best thing that happened was Jeep got to see what Ford was offering. If I was in charge of development at Jeep, I'd be updating the Jeep to match/exceed the Bronco offerings for the next model year/cycle.

Bronco is languishing in restricted production and delays. Development and decisions have already been made. Jeep can get ahead if they start putting together a build sheet that meets Broncos out-the-door level. There would maybe be a one model year gap; or at best, a mid-year refresh.

I mean, it's not like Jeeps are incapable out of the box, far from it. These are minor things.

The biggest problem Jeep has is lineup management. So many trim options.
