My Willys Diesel is great. The engine feels at home in the truck. MPG is great, I got a gas station that's close to my coffee place where I get diesel at $3.29-$3.39 a gallon. In this uncertain time when gas prices are volatile may go up crazy, the added MPG difference is quite nice.
I'm expecting engine issues to be on par with any other car and to start around 120K miles, if I keep the truck for that long. 120K with my driving might be a long way ahead, so no need to think that far.
Also the Diesel truck gets way more looks and nods.

Love my Diesel - would do it 10 times over. I get 19 average MPG and 24 hwy @ 75mph.

Also, why not take your lift and accessories off and just buy Rubicon take-offs on facebook marketplace to bolt back onto your trade in? you can probably get all the stock Rubicon stuff for 1k on there and then keep all your other stuff for your new Diesel jeep.

Awesome, that’s good to hear. They want the 37s on it otherwise I would. That’s what I did last time.

Same boat as I was. Got more money for my 20’ sport S than I paid. Got into a ecod sport s for $18 more. 4-5 mpg better and the power is night and day. The extra maintenance is nothing. Just stocked up on oil that was the same price as my gas oil on sale. DEF isnt expensive nor do you use a lot. What I save in mpg, range and cheaper fuel cost (in my area) its a win. Havent looked back! Love mine

This is some serious big brain stuff. Never even thought about this idea. I could do bumper, suspension, wheels and tires for likely $900

My biggest hesitation on a diesel would be if I lived in a very cold climate and had to park the vehicle outside overnight. IDK if the DEF freezing in the lines has been corrected yet.

I am on my 3rd JT. Started with an MT sport. Traded for a Maxtoe. Traded for the Sport S diesel. Best of the bunch. Good mileage. Great power. Sounds sweet. No issues at 10K miles.
Ha ha if I do the deal the same for me! Started with a Sport S, sold for more then I paid for a Rubicon. Now I can upgrade to the diesel.

Get it for the little extra kick in the pants and the kick of driving a diesel Jeep which is fun in and of itself.

At $15 mo you may net some fuel savings depending on how you drive and the mods you have to replace.

The mileage with bigger tires really decreases to the high teens-low low 20s despite the specious claims of some.

Something to consider is towing. I have read quite a few threads that site overheating in the Diesel among other things, especially when towing

I will probably do 35s instead of 37s for that reason. But the sucky part is the Gladiator is so long you need 37s for those difficult trails ha ha. Which is why I was considering a Wrangler but I hate missing out on the bed for overlanding.

no towing for me thankfully.
