Yep...like the others, no complaints here.
Plenty of power and the transmission is a decent companion. Suits my needs just fine.

I like my Pentastar. 35s with 4:10s. Spirited enough for me. When I feel the need for nasty power, well, I get my Challenger Wide Body Redeye out!:)

With 37s and 5:13 gears and a manual, now, I am really happy. I think it is a great motor with lots of power, but, you have to have the right gears for the tires.

That does work better, IMO, with the auto, than the manual. Just for the simple fact that it has two additional ratios. My brother has 4.10's with 35's and loves it. It does just fine. It rarely sees 8th gear, but he still has 7, so no big deal. It's plenty quick, too.

Came from a Duramax 3.0 and still super happy with this engine. Wouldn't tow with it like I would my Sierra but not really missing diesel aside from the engine noise. I do miss that.

I’d would be happier with another 75 horsepower and 100 more torque.
May as well add another 10 mpg if I am wishing.?
Or….add an electric assist to the 3.6. Apparently it can be done.?
JT 4xe. Hmm….

I remember when they went to the pentastar. I had a 2010 rubicon, my next jeep was a 2013 Sahara. Man I thought I was shitting in high cotton. Then I bought a 10a rubicon. Wow. Much better than the minivan 3.8. I think it always comes down to what your comparing it too. I went from driving a 78 scout to my gladiator. When people ask about gas mileage, handling or comfort it’s always funny to me because it’s like driving an Escalade compared to my scout that had no AC, no insulation, no radio for a year. So the pentastar is a race engine to me, but if you are comparing to a raptor 6.4 liter, your probably not going to be too excited. LOL

I 100% wish I was able to get a diesel. I barely average 13 with 35’s and a Roof top tent and I baby the hell out of it. Diesel and I wouldn’t be thinking of needing to regear, way more power and your range is well over 100-200 miles more per tank then I’m getting now.

My mileage improved with regear and drivability improved 10 fold. Such a significant upgrade I had no idea. Went from 3:73 to 4.88 and ran 35’s and 37’s on 3.73 and it was awful. 6-spd. Now it’s a sport truck and we surprise half tons for fun every day.

I had a 2013 Wrangler Sport S with a 6 speed manual. It was my first brand new vehicle and I always wanted a Jeep. I purchased it with 15 miles on the clock and when I traded it in on my 2021 Mojave, it had 141,XXX.

The only things I had ever done was routine synthetic oil changes, and a little Seafoam through it every couple months. The only things I had to deal with were putting a new thermostat in it and a clutch at around 130K (surprisingly my stock one lasted that long with a lift, heavy steel bumpers, 35s, and quite a bit of trailer towing with stock Sport S gears).

I never once changed the spark plugs, and it even had the factory battery in it. It was a great ride so I felt confident in getting another Pentastar.

The pentastar needs to be revved to get power but it’s a reliable workhorse. Not disappointed with it. Wish it had more torque but it has done everything I have asked it to do. (towing; hauling; and wheeling)

2013 would have been before the large round of changes in about 2014 or so - my wife has had Grand Cherokees for decades. Her first ones had the 4.0 and then when the V6 came out, went with those and we've have no engine issues in her vehicles except the 2021 with spark plug troubles at about 800 miles (yeah, not a typo, that's eight hundred)

That's how most modern engines get their HP, though. My Silverado with LS engine needed to be wound up tight to get power for towing. I recall the first time I hit a big hill with it and it dropped a couple of gears and the RPM shot up to over 5,000. I about freaked as if I did that with my other vehicles I'd be doing some engine work. When I next spoke with the guys at the dealership they almost laughed and pointed out - I was safe for another couple thousand RPM on a stock LS - they wind them up a lot tighter when racing. Roller cams, light, small, roller rockers, etc. all make for a high revving V8.
Pentastar 3.6 is one of those modern engines that revs to get power. In short, like almost every other engine of the last decade or two.

Happy with the pentastar. Plenty of power. Compare it to a similar truck in its class that rhymes with "mamona" and its miles ahead.

IMO, the 8 speed auto works great with the pentastar.
