Jeep had better fix this issue. Its going on what, two months without being able to go offroad because of this? I bought this truck to offroad with and knowing that I cant, at all because of this really makes me mad.

I want it fixed and if a lift will do it, then jeep needs to install the mopar lift on all diesel gladiators for free, or add them into the cost of a new vehicle that hasn't been sold yet. Or replace the stupid stops with shorter ones. Changing the spring ratio is a band aide. I want this fixed properly.

Then go tell them that. Work the phones. Perhaps get a lawyer and tell him you can’t go off-road.

Ok time for an update. I picked up my JTRD one year ago and spent the first 4 months doing lots of wheeling in Places like Glamis,Truckhavensnd Death Valley, The bottoming out was something I just Dealt with through careful driving.
At 8000 miles the uptravel at the front measured less than 2.5 inches. (New it was 3 .25 ) My Suspicion then was too low a spring rate . My solution was adjustable spring perches and Hydraulic bump stops which allowed me to set the uptravel at 3.5 inches. 8 months and 12000 miles later the springs have settled to Two inches of uptravel I now think we are dealing with too low a spring rate as well as some kind of defect in the spring. Anybody else have thoughts on this?

Not confrontational, just curious... have there been any other additional factors that could cause the measurements to change.. An 1.25 inches of loss over a year is NUTS!

Some of the strange things I have noticed over my 8.5K miles... It seems to bottom out less when it is VERY cold outside... I know this because I just reset everything to stock to Drive with the servicer advisor again, and the impact seems much softer when the temps are below 30.

Weight seems to be a big factor... example bottoming out is very light when I am driving by myself... but much more apparent with 3 adults in the Jeep.

I know you used measurements in you post, which is great, just wondering if the vehicle had been jacked up prior to measuring, any additional equipment added, a full tank of fuel, one measurement in the summer vs a very cold winter day?

Thank you. I did. I spoke with Jeep Wave today. They advised the problem SHOULD be covered in the next quarter with a service bulletin and that the engineers were working on and allegedly have come up with a fix.
Is that for all diesels or just Rubicon's?

The pole seems to show a fair percentage of Rubicon's being affected.
That’s more an indication of what was purchased and who frequents this forum.

The measurements were taken on the exact same shop floor with vehicle in the same state of dress. Now that you mention it I think your onto something with the shock temperature. I know that ICON has had the stock shocks and Springs through extensive Testing and were surprised by how soft they were. We will have to wait and see what jeep comes up with.

Have you checked for any impacts to the lower parts of the engine components? From what’s been stated that seems to be +/- 1 additional inch of up travel. I’m assuming that’s why there seems to be an extended tube the bump stop was mounted into.

anyone hear any new updates on this yet? I originally thought my JTRD was fine, but changed my vote after taking a steeper speed bump and realizing the travel should have been far better than it was. I think I'm just used to my s2k and other vehicles with no travel so I subconsciously take it really easy over bumps.

I have an update on my JTRD getting fixed and it is good news!
I just had my suspension swapped for the 2" lift kit and it was paid for by Jeep Wave. Just before my JTRD was fixed there was another just like it that was fixed and paid for by Jeep. I have a case number you can reference at the bottom and inside that it should reference the other case number, the process it to get ahold of Jeep Wave and tell them the issue, give them the case numbers and then go to the deal to get a diagnosis. Once it is diagnosed the dealer has to agree to Jeep Wave paying for it. Jeep Wave will call and work this out with the dealer. I had to go to two dealers because the first was not responsive. I know there is a fix coming out this qtr. but if you want to try and get it fixed now this is the process.

They also reinstalled the Terraflex level kit.

BTW I was very impressed with how the case manager at Jeep Wave handled this situation.

I'm located in Utah, first dealer was Ken Garff. They never responded to Jeep Wave. The second dealer was Salt Lake Valley. This where the JTRD before me and mine were completed.

My Case Number 81292917
