Jeep Gladiator Dealer is amazed that I would lift a brand new Gladiator... 20220321_191452

First off, my dealer is great. I order most of our work trucks through them. So when my wife and I wanted to replace our 2016 JKU we obviously went with my local dealer. We ordered the Gladiator on Feb 8th, and it came in this Monday, March 21st. I picked it up, and drove home. We took it on a short drive (70 miles) to dinner, got home, pulled it in, put it on the lift and disassembled it for the 3" j venture lift and 37's. When I dropped off the wheels and tires at the dealer the following morning to get mounted, everyone's jaws dropped. From the salesman to the techs, they are amazed I would "risk my factory warranty" to lift a brand new truck. It never ceases to amaze me how some will let the promise of possible warranty, affect how or why they do things.

Nice but that's never going to void your warranty. I only had 27 miles on mine and had 35's and lift on it. I ordered everything while I was waiting to sign the paperwork. Dropped it off at the shop the next morning, Had 35's put on on the drive home from the dealership.

These dealers always amaze me.

I actually called my dealership recently and asked if they reprogram my ECU for 35" tires (I wanted to see if paying 300$ for Tazer was worth it). They responded that they did not do that as putting 35" tires could void my warranty.

Clowns.

My dealer notified me before purchasing that lifting required a special surcharge to be included in the warranty.

They all want to see it when I get it wrapped up this weekend. I told them I orderd all my components the day after I ordered the Jeep:like:

I do know the service writer, so I'm not anticipating any issues.

I was at the dealer a few weeks ago getting my batteries replaced and asked about reprogramming for 35's. They said sure and it would cost around $350 because they had to buy the software from Jeep then install it. I said no thanks, might as well buy a tazer.

I think you need a new dealer that isn’t so shady. Because only a shady dealer would say that.

Possibly, but I've dealt with these guys for quite a while now. Multiple vehicles. I mainly just never count on FCA/stellantis or any other manufacturer to actually take care of their product. Plan for out of pocket, and if they cover it great, if not, so be it.
