I just finished installing the 2 inch AEV lift for a Jeep Gladiator Mojave. (And adding 35 inch tires on stOck rims)
When I am at low speed and either step on the brakes, or give it some gas there is a very audible 'clunk.'
Shifting out of neutral into either drive or reverse does not produce the noise or sensation at all.
I am getting ready to drive to the 'Badland' Jeep Jamboree in Indiana next Tuesday from South Carolina, and then hit the trails for 2 days.
If I knew what I was talking about (Which I don’t) I would say the spline isn't seated all the way forward as before the lift. I did install the three spacers for the pillow block, and everything else. Any help would be greatly appreciated

It's probably the 25 inch tires on stick rims. :)

Spelling eros assad, did you do the full kit with relocation brackets and driveline spacer?

Edit - I see you did the spacer. What about the brackets?

Yes Sir. Full kit, shock relocation brackets, 2" bump stop spacers, Spacers at top of coil springs, The only thing I didn't do was break loose the read upper and lower control arms as I couldn't generate 190 ft/lbs of torque, not could my impact hammer. I intend to have the dealer do that for me.
BTW: Seeing if I can edit out the typo's . Sheesh. I am NOT typing well today.

In addition to the shock relocation brackets there should have been some geometry correcting brackets for the control arms. Not saying the absence of those would cause a clunk sound, but my Mojave drove much better with the AVE lift after I added the brackets to correct the caster.
I bought mine already lifted, so it took me a while to get up to speed that there were no brackets or long or adjustable control arms installed.
They also correct the pinion angle.

There may be some funky control arm movements without the torque at new ride height. I don't know if 2" is enough to cause issues, but the bushings will be under a higher load now and may wear faster.

Where did you get your geometry correcting brackets for the control arms from?

The geometry brackets have nothing to do with your clunk sound. I am sure you have checked but it really sounds like something may not have gotten tightened all the way. Mind did make a slight clunk over bumps that would engage bump stops. didn't take much

I don't think stepping on the gas or hitting the brakes would make him hit the bump stops.
And the brackets were mentioned to make sure he knew that correcting caster is a part of lifting.

it must be hard as hell to get the springs seated right without those control arms being loosened. I know i had to loosen mine to drop it further so that i could seat’m properly especially the nipple.

I bet its those uptight control arms are the reason , once u lift both front & rear axles shift & things don’t align.
Best practice is to loosen’m up & then torque to spec once truck is on the ground. Harbor Freight sells cheap but strong breaker bars & you can add pipe to it if you need more leverage, that’s what i used to loosen’em.

adjustable front track bar, geo brackets or adjustable front lca, & rear adjustable track bar or brackets are not included in AEV basic spacer lift kit, but these can make your truck ride smoother & straight.
& do allignment

Some of my friends with bigger breakers and better impact wrenches are bringing theirs in tomorrow to see what we can do.
AEV's Patrick replied with this guidance:
It's possible not likely to be a driveshaft spline issue; as many of these kits have been sold and installed on Mojave's we would have run into something like that by now. Can you identify what general area in the vehicle the noise is coming from? If it's only present under braking or acceleration but not switching from drive to reverse that makes me think it's downstream from the ring and pinion in terms of power flow or a suspension-related issue such as a control arm bolt that's not fully torqued or something along those lines. If you can ID where in the vehicle the noise is coming from that can help narrow down possibilities.

With help tomorrow, we'll loosen, retorque, and try to locate exactly where the sound is c oming from. I'll keep this thread posted when I figure it out.
If you have any idea's, don't be shy, I consider every comment as well intentioned! Ya'll rock. Thank-You.

If someone can safely get under the vehicle while you rock it forward and back (ALL wheels on the ground and in park) you may be able to see what's clunking.

Check the torque on front control arms and the shock relocation brackets. You may have forgotten to torque them down properly.

Thank-You. I will definitely do that.
