The whole first year, I was getting 10.1 MPGs on factory 33s.

Then I started seeing highway miles taking my kid to school. I've gotten it as high as 14 MPGs.
35s, here I come! Haha

Not trolling with this -- I haven't done the math -- does the MPG improvement on the diesel offset the costs in the fuel?

I don't know about offsetting the price of fuel + maintenance costs, but the added range is what does it for me. No math needed, just a butt dyno and the estimated range on the dash. I'm averaging roughly 20mpg in mixed driving, that's like 360ish miles before I start to get the idiot light going off. That and the torque to handle 37's easily without regearing is also very, very nice.

In terms of the original post, I think we need to know if OP's tires are calibrated with the ECU or not because even with stock gearing on a non-rubicon, that's really bad.

That's exactly why I won't go up in tire size past 33. It does what I need and still gets me decent fuel for a truck. But like you said, it's all on what you're using it for. You get better this but lose some of that

If he is basically constantly climbing mountains at high speed or all city driving and he loves to floor it it's possible. On 4.10s at 80 I'm around 15-17 depending on wind. Gearing doesn't overly affect mileage on the highway so my thinking is mad elevation or lots of aggressive city driving.

Yup I’m scratching with you. I scoot around Houston heavy footed as the Iron Giant and I still average close to 15mpg on 33s and 4.10s. 19mpg on highway trips driving 70-80 mph.

Hopefully OP gets a solution because 10 MPGs seems really low unless he/she is constantly driving up a mountain lol.

My mpg has been getting worse with the winter blend fuel. I have 38" tires and 5.13s and was getting 16-17 now I'm getting 14 mpg. I'm sure the longer idling to warm it up doesn't help either.

Another 5.13 geared JT on 37’s with a rtt. Summer I was about 14 to 15 and the winter I’m maybe 11.5. Had the Jeep since 2019 and it’s like clockwork with the MPG drop. Using the tazer mini and checked by GPS.

What is your driving style? In the last couple of weeks I’ve used the ess and I’m keeping it to 65 on the highway and being easy on the throttle. I’ve got it to 14mpg. I don’t really care but I’m obsessed with watching the screen.

Don't know about you all with diesels. But my diesel price is lower per gallon than gas. Usually around 10 cents.
Any other word from the OP on this?
