Ordered 18inch rims for my 35s and I’m instantly regretting after looking at pictures of the 17s on 35s. But I did see some other trucks with 18inch wheels on 35s and it looked decent. The shop I’m getting the work done at already got the shipment of the wheels today.

The only real downside to 18” wheels is that the tire selection is not as wide and, in an emergency situation, it may be harder to find a readily available 18” tire.

Ditto. I'm not disrespecting the choice the OP made but I've found that to be true when upgrading the tires and wheels on several of my vehicles. The 17" also gives you more sidewall so the ride is a bit nicer than a shorter sidewall tire on an 18" wheel

You’ll see more load range C tires in bigger sizes with 17 wheels. Looks are subjective. Only reason I still have the OEM 20’s is because Mickey Thompson makes 33’s in SL in this size so I didn’t have to spend another $1k+ on wheels.

Not the worst thing in the world but I agree with the others on the 17's being a lot more flexible in selection.

What would it take to unwind it? I would imagine a restock fee hit for the wheels but the tires should not be that big of a deal for the shop to return.

If you had asked before buying the wheels, I would have said 17". 18" wheels are fine as long as you are happy with the tire availability.

I prefer 17's simply because of the extra sidewall and the availability of tire choices and load ranges.

Like others have said there is a wider selection of tires and wheels in 17".
That being said, I'm currently on 35s with OEM 18" Overland wheels on my 2021 JT. I really like the look of the wheels, so it is just a preference. Tomorrow those 18s will be on a new set of 37x12.5x18 Falken Wildpeaks.

I initially looked at going with 18” 35’s. I went to the 17” mainly because, in the tires I got, the 18” was $50 more per tire over the 17”… making my spare effectively free…

You hit it on the money bud just had to pay a restock fee. I was able to change the 18 for 17s. Thanks for the feedback man.

The 37s look good with the 18s. If I were going with 37s I wouldn’t have changed the rims but since I’m going with 35s I feel the 35s will look great.

Me personally, I like that more wheel is visible and doesn't get lost in the tire the larger you go. If tires come in the sizes you are looking for then you should be good to go, right? As others have said, 17s have many more tires to choose from.
