My new Gladiator with less than 1100 miles will not recognize either key fob. Rpm stuck 6, speedo stuck 55, fuel stuck full. Will not come out of park. Tried unhooking the battery for 10 minutes, no change. Waiting for service advisor to call back. Anyone with similar problems?

Did you disconnect both batteries? Due to the way they are connected, just removing the cables from the main battery leaves the ESS battery powering the system.

Makes me feel kind of a dunce. Dead battery but not sure why. I had just drove and put gas in the night before. Couldn’t find anything I left turned on. Anyway, saved some time and money not having towed in. I’m still waiting for the oil change to get a few other things fixed. I have the aluminum steering box but the truck drives alright so far.
I was thinking about that also
charged battery now ok, but engine light and auto start warning light came on. Runs fine, engine light went out but auto start warning light stays on.

I had a bad auxiliary battery that caused what you are having happen.
The bad auxiliary battery caused your primary battery to go dead?

I went to start my Gladiator this morning and the battery was stone-cold dead, zero lights. I couldn't find anything that I'd left on and it also had the auto start warning light. Fortunately, it was in the garage and I wasn't in a rush so I was able to jumpstart it from my wife's car. I cleared the warning light with the Tazer and drove it to the airport.

Now I'm hoping I don't have a dead battery when I pick it up tomorrow. Just in case, I have my jumper cables and backed the truck into the parking spot.

Yes, this is exactly what happened when my aux battery drained the main battery. It would just die without warning, stuck in drive.

Thanks! Hopefully, it will start tomorrow and I'll contact the dealer to get it repaired.

Yes it sure did. It would take it 2 days without being driven. Has not went dead since the auxiliary battery was replaced.

Thanks, I had gone 38 hours without driving it. Hopefully, my battery will hold up for 26 hours at the airport.

That’s scary, I’ve been driving with the light on since and haven’t had any problems. Waiting to take in later this month or early next. Thanks

The Jeep will not start if the Aux is dead, even though the main battery is the cranking battery. It is an awful feature. I would not be surprised if the Main battery was not actually "dead", but jumping it allowed it to give enough juice to the aux battery, which allowed the software to say "aux battery is over X volts so we can start now."

I had my aux battery be too low, for whatever reason, 4 different times that left me dead in the water. With less than 10 hours between driving (overnight in the spring/early summer). I still have yet to find any rhyme or reason for it, but I said fuck that aux battery and put a genesis dual battery kit in so I know that will never happen again.

Mine starts with the aux battery disconnected. The 2018 JLs wouldn't start without a good aux battery, but that's also been addressed with a firmware update.
