With the lackluster overall sales (read that Gladiator is the second worst selling Jeep, behind .... compass?). So I'd guess cheap / low cost options would be added.

You can order the dual door group on 21 Gladiators now. Pricey though. I wish you could get the half doors only.

New color out for wranglers, maybe coming to JT soon too? Honestly, I'd rock. It's loud, it's bold, it's bright.

OMG---that color is hideous. Definitely caters to the female buyer though, which is just good business.

It's already only $1815 more than a 4 door wrangler, so I don't see them getting cheaper, or the wrangler has to as well. It has to cost more than a wrangler, or it just doesn't make sense . It might be the worst selling, in terms of volume, but I'm sure it's among the most profitable per unit. It shares so much with the wrangler and the ram 1500 that I'm sure it just prints money.

Actually Gladiator sales are robust (especially given the pandemic / chip shortage).

Source: Stellantis Media - FCA US Reports Q2 2021 U.S. Sales (stellantisnorthamerica.com)

Gladiator sales are up 53% compared to Q2 2020. It's the 3rd best selling Jeep behind stalwarts Grand Cherokee and Wrangler.

If you want to compare the Gladiator to other trucks...

Source: 2021 US Pickup Truck Sales Figures By Model | GCBC (goodcarbadcar.net)

I descended June (the last full month of data). Keep in mind the pandemic and chip shortage has skewed many of these numbers, but I think the JT is right where it wants/expects to be.

GM refreshed their 1/2 ton pickups in 2016 after only 2 years. Midsized trucks definitely are on a different schedule though.
I am trading in a 2014 Silverado for my Gladiator. Trust me, they HAD to do a revamp in 2016. My '14 is probably the worst truck I've ever had the displeasure of owning.

Donlen suggests ordering now open 9/9 - it used to say 9/3 but was recently updated. Unsure how reliable this is - but more than anything else I have.

This is so not a problem to me. They just need to come out with it already. I'd order it the same day like it was a friggin iPhone if I could.

Oh yeah! That leak! The opening of the MY22 order books is why the NY Auto Show was "the one"! I'm not one to base decisions on anything without substance behind it, and that combined with previous years timelines is why I was so convinced the NY Auto Show was when we'd finally hear. I also recall reading something about how Jeep (and probably others) would be lookin for alternate ways to get the same information out, but I guess that's fallen through. Sunday would have been the last day of the show, so that would have been the last day we could expect to see anything. Given how little (zilcho) there's been throughout the week it was supposed to have occurred, it seems like we're stuck waiting another month for the Texas Auto Show (that may or may not be the exact name). Assuming it happens.

I would be thrilled if we hear something today or tomorrow, and order books open as planned. I'm just not counting on it.

Not that it's much of a datapoint, but I read Motor Trend's 2022 Buyers Guide this morning, and they have the Extreme Recon package noted for the Wrangler, but the Gladiator is in the "no significant changes" list at the end of the Jeep section.

The Wranglers don't have to pass the towing tests the Gladiator does. Bring your 6.4L packing JT up here, and tow at capacity up 70 in July. I'll meet you around the Evergreen exit.
should be no problem. the JT is rated so low for towing anyways that our GLS450 and many SUVS have a higher tow rating. the V8 will not be working as hard as the V6 or diesel and nothing to spool so why would it be a heat issue with a V8? Once we get our travel trailer next year I’ll test it out !
