Seeing that 6-speed shift knob, while sitting here still waiting for a fix for the currently defective clutches.
It takes about 2500 miles of care to break that dual disc clutch in. No one has the patience for that these days. Except maybe old farts like myself. But now the clutch is now truly a pleasure. Its light, precise and takes a lot of abuse with no smell. But whew, the first 1500 had me worried for sure. 58K so far.

I believe there is a clutch issue causing cracking then a fire. It’s rare but several cases of it. Jeep has been working on a fix last I heard.
Yeah, Ive seen a couple of guys using the clutch like a torque converter in an automatic. When new its very mushy and hard to control, which makes stalling easy. So the tendency is to slip it a LOT to overcome that. Given a chance (like 2500 miles!) to bed in it transforms into an excellent clutch.

I had a '22 gladiator. Sold it bc I just didn't get enough of the features I wanted and the wife didn't want to learn to drive a manual. I would definitely consider another one if they would bring us the 4xe or hurricane. Even on the 2024 not being able to get 4.10s on the Willy's is frustrating drive that's probably the highest trim I could afford. We need more options!
I currently have an f150 but it's almost at 200k miles. It won't last forever. In an ideal world I would have a full size truck and a 2 door jeep but I don't have the money or room so I compromise with the gladiator and I think it's awesome for having fun but still having a bed.

@oknation my wife told me that this might be the last truck I ever need to buy. My last one was 17 years old and the one before that was 26 years old.
I always roll my eyes when I see these comments - "my wife told me...", "if my wife approves it..", etc. I mean who is the fucking man in the house, making money, supporting household, providing care and protection. If you do, why would you say something like this? If you can afford it, and you want it, go and buy the damn thing. Bring it home and say, hey baby, look at this new toy I got for us. And of course, she shouldn't be driving an old piece of junk. Everyone is happy and smiling.

No offense to anyone.

Spending $60k on anything without discussing with your partner is a dick move.

Unless you're well into the 1%. Then you aren't buying gladiators anyways ?

I don't know man.... depends on how old you were when you entered the 1%....

The older the more likely you are to hang on to nostalgia.

If I won the powerball I wouldn't buy a Bugatti....no interest.

My nostalgia lies with the 60s vehicles. I'd build out a M677 with the R2.8 and some modern interior luxuries instead of a Gladiator.
