How is auto leveling going to work with a 4" lift for example 🤔
Depends on what sensor is used. If the sensor is a suspension mounted design, then you use an appropriate length arm for the sensor. If they aren't suspension mounted then it would be a recalibration thing.

Honestly the Overland name made more sense if you were coming from the Grand Cherokee world, but yeah Sahara would have been a better call.
Jeep should unify the trim names across the brand, just call the Grand Cherokee the Sahara too.

But you are more likely to go overlanding with a Jeep than drive in the Sahara - and would you take a Sahara to that desert stock?

Horrible idea. Can you imagine if there was such a monstrosity as a Compass Rubicon??
Or Grand Cherokee Texas Trail of Tears?

I was referring to what I like to call the "low tier/budget" Rubicons.

Sounds like you have a high tier one. But also the margin to get all that, is super high imo. So, you likely got raped in price or could simply afford it and likely not bothered by the high margin for such. I, unfortunately don't have it like that. That's why I mention the "value" factor.

Don't get me wrong, if I could have justified the extra 10-12k (when I purchased back in 21) I'd got a Rubi with the same features as my Overland. But considering I don't absolutely have to have disconnects and lockers, I couldn't justify paying an extra 10-12k for primarily those two main features I'd rarely use.
i just always had this "dream" parting out JC Whitney to make a jeep I thought would be super cool to have built. Then the TJ Rubicon hit the market and that was my dream Jeep. It had everything always thought i wanted already installed. But the TJ is not much of a family Jeep and that's why I got rid of the YJ. the The '04 Unlimited hit the market and my dream reignited. Someday I would have a TJL Rubicon (when i could afford it.) then the atrocious 4-Door unlimited hit the market and my priorities shifted to only being able to get a used Tacoma, hahaha. By this time the 4-door body lines change to make them look really nice but with rumors of the truck coming the mission was on, then covid pricing hit and its was moderately affordable even though still expensive.. On a surprise trip to phoenix the family surprised me with Jeep shopping . 9 hours at teh dealer and 50k later we drove home the 2021 Rubicon. Literally had every option (except the BT speaker and tonneau cover)

I don't think a Compass would ever qualify as a Rubicon trim, that requires dual lockers and always has.

my brother in law is a shark. we shot down like 6 offers form the dealer. in the end i think it was 5% apr and 52K out the door. He even got then to remove teh 3rd party LowJAck the dealers install. We were signing the final paper work and teh deal snuck in some bogus $800 fee, telling use they couldn't sell it. We got up walk to and the Sales manager chased us to to the car. We were literally leaving and they stopped us backing out.

They should add Square head lights again!! too

1766182264352-qp.webp
There's actually a square headlight kit for the JL/JT. I posted about it in a jeep page on FB a couple years ago and the actual designer of the kit chimed in. He seemed like a really cool person. I don't know if the kit has hit the market yet. But the pics that I posted years ago was from like SEMA 2022 or something. If they ever hit the market, I would definitely go for them.

Looks interesting, but they need to offer Sahara Tan color option to the package! That was always my dream color.
I freaking LOVED my Sahara Tan Wrangler. Never showed the dirt. Almost sad I traded it on my previous White Gladiator, but now with my Mojito Gladiator I'm in love again, but if they ever released Sahara Tan again I'd be begging like a child for a new Gladiator.

I believe the original TJ Rubicon was rear locker only.

No. The original 2003 TJ Rubicon had front/rear lockers. The first ones were air actuated, which had problems. The changed them later to the Japanese electric ones.
