Let us know when you start hearing a ticking sound on the passenger side of the vehicle's engine.

Spoke with my dealer service manager friend yesterday about this. The repair of the cam does not fix the issue. They don't know what causes it. Kick the can down the road.

I believe I’m having this same issue. Crazy clicking/ticking sound when I’m driving around. Any luck with anything? I’m taking mine in next week to have them look at it.
If the damage is bad enough

Pro tip: If there is enough internal damage by the time you bring it in for inspection, (hint hint) such as metal shavings throughout, the dealership will most likely resort to installing a brand new engine, (if still under warranty) instead of putting a bandaid on your currently poorly designed and prematurely damaged engine that will just blow up again later when your warranty is already over. Personal experience...

Yeah, that guy doesn't know, and that's his explanation.

So what is causing the cam failure? There appears to be no way to prevent it. If it is going to happen then it just will. But some never will fail. If mine fails I am not going to hear it.

It has not fixed it for me. Picked it up last night after passenger intake cam, followers, and lash adjusters replaced. Twenty miles into the new cam, caught the birth of a tick at 55 seconds on the video. So with 8044 miles on it, I am on tick number 2. Now back at the dealer with 8078 miles on it. I may run from this vehicle.

Hmmm.
Is the "tick" temperature related?
I hear such for about 1.5 seconds upon startup from cold, but not when the engine is @ operating temp.
Did the one in the video begin when reaching operating temperature?
What about the two-step oil pump?
Since it increases pressure during start-ups, does the "ticking" begin when the ECM signals to return to low pressure mode?

Listen at 55 seconds into the video, vehicle is warm and at idle. This is the start of a new tick 20 miles after intake cam, bank 1, followers and lash adjusters have been replaced at the dealership. The bad follower and consequently the bad cam lobe were on cylinder one. The new tick comes on about 30 seconds after start up and then remains. Now back at the dealership. They claim cam phasers, part 7-10 days out. I do not think this is a cam phaser rattle. I think the follower is bumping up against the new cam.

Nothing at all to do with oil pressure - that changes nothing.
Pressure doesn't prevent ticking.
Likely if you hear a tick in the first second, it's the lash adjusters that have bled down and are again taking the lash or free play out of the valve system.
