Yes. Mojave and Rubicon have higher fenders
Yes - exactly. From my research, Mojave's and Rubicon's can support the 35's. Especially if they are of the skinny variety.

Not ALL Gladiators are created equal.... :)

Jeep noob posting here. Picked up my first Jeep ever Saturday. A blue 23 Willys. Looking at tires and wheels, going with a 34-35 diameter, but have a question. The wheels I want come in a 0 offset and a -12. I see several setups here where people have wheels with a 0 offset and 12.5" wide tires and it seems to poke out of the wheel flares a little more than I would like. I plan to go with a 285mm width so that means about 1.25" less width, so that means mine will poke out about 0.6" less than others I have seen. But I understand that the Rubicon's and Mojave's have axles that are 1.5" wider than the other Jeeps, including the Willys. So does that mean that a tire/wheel setup that pokes out an inch past the fender on a Rubicon or Mojave would stick out 0.75" less on mine? Or is there something else at play here that I'm not getting.

There is more height and width in the Rubicon/Mojave flares. How much, IDK.

Had a minor rub on the right front rear fender well on a full right turn over bumps on trails at Ocala national forest. Admittedly I had a couple of fellow retired firefighters ( u big-a-boys) on the trail. Got home and used a couple of cable ties to pull the fender well towards the frame.

Thanks, I knew the front flairs on those models sat about an inch or so higher, but I had not heard about the flares themselves being wider. I'll go by the dealership one evening and pull a tape measure on them.

I’ll look for pics of the poke on my setup. Texas Trail edition is same as Willys I believe. I’m running Nitto 305/70/17 which measure very close to 34”. I’ll have to look at the back of the rim to give you offset as they were on mine when I bought it.

That would be greatly appreciated. Lots of good pics in this thread, but most don't post their wheel offset which makes all the difference in how the tires fit.

Running Toyo AT3's 35*11.5/17's with just a leveling kit and have not experienced any rubbing. My wheels are a -6 offset. If you stay with the stock wheels, Mickey Thompson makes the Baja Boss in (255/85R17) 35*10/17, if you do you're afraid of the poke.

KMC XD129 Holeshot. 17 x 8.5 ET34 which is 6" BS. Toyo OC/MT 315's which measure 34.5" tall. The BS matches the factory rims so all the width went outwards with the clearance inside basically the same. It only pokes the shoulder of the tire leaving the tread under the wheel well. There is a TreaFlex 1.5" spacer in the front to compensate for the winch and level a little.
