There must be dozens of them!
Bit more than dozens, maybe hundreds (this was edited from thousands after reviewing current for sale Hemi Gladiators), compared to the 7000ish per year 392's built by Jeep with a factory-backed warranty. My belief is that a factory powertrain would be highly sought after and eat away at Ram sales of the 1500, thus leading to Jeep not making a V8 JT.

From Rubitrux:

" We have years of experience when it comes to our HEMI conversions; with over 600 Wrangler & Gladiator HEMI swaps completed in recent years, we can offer experience in the field and the confidence and reliability you expect from a factory-installed drivetrain. "**

**Can be taken with a grain of salt as they do not note years of wranglers.

600 to the count, and that's just Rubitrux. That doesn't include all the kits AMW sells, the Dakota Customs kits, Exodus, MM4x4, etc. The upfront cost is a huge deterrent, but add a factory warranty, factory everything, and it would be a huge success (as the 392 is) and would take away from Ram Sales.

Ram Rebel with a 5.7 is a 63k truck
Rubicon hardtop auto 3.6 is a 56k truck

charge 7k for the 5.7 on a rubi (which only costs 3k for the Ram) and you've got a 63k rubicon "cannibalizing" sales from a 63k 1500 with 4k more built in profit.

And you sure as shit know they'd charge more than 7k for that engine, just because they could.
I’d buy a Toyota before I’d ever buy a Ram. I don’t know why Jeep doesn’t get this idea thru their thin, egg-headed, euro-trash skulls: SOME OF US ARE HERE BECAUSE WE LOVE A JEEP, not the entire CDJR brand catalog…I couldn’t care less about fcuking Ram sales.

They could put a blown, 500 ci, nitro engine in a Ram and sell the truck—well-appointed— for $40,000 and I’d never buy it.

But put a V-8 (of any displacement) or the Hurricane into the Mojave, slap a $70,000 sticker on the window…and sign me up, Jones!!!

Jeep will never put a V8 in the gladiator because they know we all want 4 cylinder turbo motors, hybrid or EV.

Maybe they could even up the ante in the motor world by offering a 3 cylinder turbo motor. How awesome would that be?!

The Jeep builder website has never been known for its accuracy. I'll repeat my previous prediction. There will never be a production V8 Gladiator from the factory, unless there are some serious changes in the EPA regulations and enforcement.

V8 would cannibalize the Ram 1500 sales—very much doubt we will see it from the factory.
Doubt it would matter as Stellantis still makes their coin off the sale and would not be considered a conquest sale. Besides, it is a two way street going the other way also.

I just picked up a used 2013 wk2 with the 5.7l. This thing is a turd! I'm not sure if it is the 6 speed bogging it down but I'm not impressed. I'm sure if it was an option, it would be detuned to make the EPA happy like someone else said.
The earlier models had a crap trans and the hemi wasn’t as Finely tuned as it was now. I had a Durango hemi just recently before I flipped it and it was awesome.

the 5.7 Is no race car, but for lighter cars it’s quite good.

While yes, this would be expensive, think about the amount of people paying SIGNIFICANTLY ($30,000 minimum + MSRP of Gladiator) more to swap their current gladiators. A factory option would be eaten up and would take away from Ram Sales.
This option would also crush AMW sales.

You can find them 5.7 under the 2023 models but not the 24 and now since we know for a fact you can't get a 5.7 in a 2023, the website is jacked up

Thats the ticket-- a Mojave suspension with a front locker, sway disconnects, sitting on factory 37's with a 5.7L Hemi V8 might be the very last pickup many of us would ever buy. Surely it would be a $80K MSRP Gladiator, but what else would you **need** to do to it besides adding a stupidcharger?

The only way I can see Chrsylantis doing something that cool is if they dumped the Pentastar for the detuned Hurricane, put it in most of the trucks alongside the 4XE getting the CAFE fleet numbers up to offset the 5.7L. Chances are they would do this with the high output Hurricane before the V8 but that V8 just sounds so damned good.
Definitely fun to dream. Can’t see a bigger radio and a Renegade grill getting me all that excited about the ā€˜24 refresh. Definitely not excited enough to trade mine in. Throw in an option for a 5.7 and XR package… Dang hard not to get excited and want to trade up.
