Now I’m using royal purple 0w20. I’m not going anywhere near amsoil with all the stories.
Just the opposite of my choice, I guess, based on my research.
But then, I choose the "factory stuff" -
Pennzoil,
or 2nd choice is Mobil 1
and Amsoil next down the line.

I used to buy the gear lube by the 5 gallon bucket and have a lid with a pump so I could pump it right out of the bucket into the differential.

With enough changes I would too.

Had to laugh a bit - for years this has been talked about, and the non-believers are going to hate no matter what.
I've even shown how mine followed very very close with the lab results.

Short drives take away from the life, longer drives, always driving it to FULL oil temperature means you get 1 for 1. It truly is a science - but gee, no one on the internet likes science.

I wish I had photos of a Ford I worked on years ago where the lady drove only to the store and back - 8 or 9 miles. The engine was SO plugged up that oil couldn't drain back out of the tops of the heads, filling the valve covers! The gunk was HARD as heck and had to be chiseled out.

PS - I've liked this guy's videos in the past.

I suspect that Jeep has inherited some of the technology from the Mercedes days. I know the fobs were IDENTICAL, the Grand Cherokee front suspension was Mercedes technology, so maybe some of the oil life calculations are from those days, brought forward to today.

Hated doing oil changes on fleet vehicles. They was lucky to get an oil change once a year. Some of them were driven 60,000+ miles a year. The oil would come out thick. Couple of them, we had to flush with kerosene with the engine running.

My work truck is a fleet vehicle. It only gets an oil change when the indicator says so......or it goes in for something else. I got 270,000+ miles on that 2012 F250 Power Stroke. I'm hoping for a new 2025 or 2026 Ram 3500. District manager said that I'm do for a new truck.

When the Grand Cherokee went full Independent suspension. That was a full Merc design. The Crossfire was a Merc with Chrysler badging.

Yeah, after the WJ, the last solid axle Grand Cherokee.
A friend, a Mercedes tech, brought a couple of Mercedes steering knuckles with him to one of our AMC meets and we compared some of the technology (He knew we were Grand Cherokee fans back then). The material was also interesting - had a sheen different than I'd seen on suspension/steering parts before. We talked about the independent front suspension, ball joints and a few other bits. (he liked to talk Mercedes, as that was his life/job, but he liked Jeeps and AMCs too, so it merged well)

I've been trying to forget the Ceasefire. At least they are almost extinct now, parts getting hard to get.

I always like the SRT 6 Crossfire with the kompressor as they called it.

I like the look of those, but i love odd quirky vehicles, maybe it stems from my parents drove me home from the hospital in a AMC Gremlin

I just can't bring myself to run the oil much over 5k. I just changed it again, with 5,200+/- on it while the oil life indicator was at 41%. Anybody else stuck in this mindset? The whole "it's cheap insurance" thing is something I've subscribed to with all of my vehicles. But in this era of rampant inflation, I"m considering extending service intervals on everything but I seem to have a mental block on this, especially with this particular Jeep.
I am sure this has been discussed, Oil Analysis is the best way to determine your oil life and change interval.
