So I like the completeness of the AEV 2" spacer, however it reuses the junky stock shocks and non quick disconnecting sway bar links. I'm wondering if for the relative same price of the AEV kit, is there a similar complete kit of equal quality which uses better shocks or springs?

I'm on a '22 Sport with 34.5x10.5R17 doing 95% street usage and occasionally I want to be able to decently off road. I guess do I even need to lift it with those tires? How are the stock springs? What would you do in that budget? I don't want to compromise ride quality either. Ty!

I went with a 1.5” Teraflex front leveling kit with 3/4” spacers in back. I put a JKS adjustable track bar up front and bought the longer mopar control arms from the mopar 2” lift. My Apex disconnects came yesterday. I will replace the spacer lift with Clayton springs before I go to Moab the next time. That won’t be for a couple of years, probably. In the meantime, this will serve me well. I’ve got more than $600 in it though. New shocks will be here this week too

I should follow up. A lot of people who buy that kit wind up adding a track bar and geometry correction brackets or longer lower control arms. I strongly considered that kit and decided against it.

Those tires aren’t as tall, if you look at the specs, as my 285/75/17s, if I recall correctly. Mine fit without a lift. However, if you are going to disconnect Offroad, you do need a lift.

Bottom line, if you think stock shocks are garbage, you can’t replace them with better shocks for under $600 by themselves let alone buy a complete lift for that price.

You can do a coil spacer lift, any spacers will do just fine. Add Mopar lift kit lower control arms. Then you will need to spend more than $600 to get nice shocks to improve the ride and handling.

This is your answer OP. Improved over stock shocks alone are going to cost more than the spacer kit.

To answer part of your question, no. You’ll have to spend more for quality shocks that perform better than stock…that’s even before getting lift kit parts. $600 would be pretty close the lowest number I’d go for 4 decent shocks.

Sounds like you want a quality kit that keeps your Jeep riding nice. I’d keep saving for something in the $1,500-$2,500 range unless you’re cool with a rougher ride to get better looks (which is also fine - your truck, your preference).

My truck rides the same as it did before I added the spacers. I am sure my Falcon shocks that are in route will firm things up however.

Yea mine did too when I had the 1.5” level kit up front with all factory shocks. But I did replace the front track bar and front LCAs.

I almost suggested for OP to just go with the AEV kit because I’ve only read/heard great things about it. However, it doesn’t sound like he likes the factory shocks. That being said, he could always get the AEV spacer kit now, deal with the factory shocks for awhile, and then get better shocks later on.

More money in the long run (because of the shock extensions), but gratification sooner - I think a lot of us on the forum know how that goes lol.

I had the AEV 2" kit on this 2021 Rubicon that had 37's on it. I also had the Rubicon Fox shocks. The ride was excellent. It rode better than my 2023 Sport S with Max Tow. My only complaint was the side to side rocking motion noticed most of road. On the 2023 I only have 315's so I am going with 1.5 spacers on front and .75 in rear. I like the handling of my current suspension and no side motion which I am sure was the Rubicon shocks.

Jeep Gladiator $600 for a lift which one? 1000000634

They will completely change the feel of your rig! I added the Falcon 2.1's to my Rubicon XR and it was a dramatic change in a positive way. Enjoy :)

What about a Rubicon takeoff set? Should be able to get for $200 or less and can get your desired “lift” sourcing from sourcing from a model with the right spring rate.

With that low of a budget I'd just put in better shocks. If you like a firmer ride I'd go bilstein 5100s. If you like a softer ride you can get fox 2.0s for ~$700 which work great on and off road. The stock shocks not only don't dampen very well, but they are incredibly short travel. For your use better shocks will do much more for the jeep than a spacer lift.
