I am actually surprised they thought to include such a cover but failed to provide windshield securing hardware

Maybe the shovel and pic axe is the spot to buried treasure, A slew of steel bumpers maybe?

I'm going treasure map, final answer!

The shovel and pickaxe are some of the “hidden icons” the designers talked about way back in the launch. I found the I ❤ 409 in the bed plastic mounding near the tailgate drivers side. There is the little Willy’s icon in the lower passenger windshield. We just mentioned the pick/axe on the ACC cover (you won’t have one in your glovebox unless you have the ACC option). I also found a pair of flip flop icons in the plastic between the hood and windshield on the passenger side. Anyone else find any of the hidden iconography?

The jeeps on the wheels are also one I believe. Grill design on the shifter. Grill design in the tail gate.

Is there a thread of them all?

Liked the slippers by the windshield wipers.

You and your facts... The HMMWV I drove for the battalion commander didn't have a pickaxe! Must have been dropped for cost along with the armor and seat cushions.

Well my pioneer kit had that shit. In a hmmwv. In theater as a bc

Do you have the ACC/FCW package? If not, you won't get one. If so, ask your dealer where it is. Also, look in the storage box under the rear seat.

Thanks for asking this! I did not get one with the LE. Went to my dealer yesterday and they took one out of a truck on the lot!

I think Jeep should have given us a pioneer kit, and design a specific place to put it. That would have been cool.
Oh well i will have to create my own. Hmmm, got to think about that one. Too much fun

A good answer, but not so much correct, but a good answer nonetheless. The Jeep was not built for prospectors, it was built for soldiers and part of the BILLi (Basic Item Load List) for a Jeep was a shovel and a pickaxe along with a lot of other things. As far as the windshield down, well that is SOP for Combat units when not in the cantonment area in CONUS (Continental US) and Combat zones with the exception of Flag Grade Officers Jeeps.
Thank you Sir.... I would suspect Army?

And it does fit just fine. Word of advise, remove it Before you put the windshield back up.
