Take it to an honest dealership. This is ridiculous and if the customer complains about the symptoms on their TSB, they have to fix it. Period!

This isn’t subjective for the dealership to give their opinion how they think your expensive Jeep should handle. It’s a safety concern from their customer and should actually have been a recall.

I had zero issues, no second guessing and the work was done correctly mine. Take it someplace else where the customer is always right, especially when they have the TSB paperwork showing it needs to be fixed.
Agreed!

I was not going to post on this thread, but today was my last draw.
Warning long read.
Hello,
I need some assistance.

I purchased a Jeep Gladiator 2020 model and have a steering issue. I have made four separate visits to my dealer Fayetteville Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, 1223 Huntsville Hwy Fayetteville, TN 37334. Phone: 931-532-0400.

I am writing to complain about my service department and the fact I feel they do not care about my issue. Keep in mind it’s just the way I feel.

  • First trip to the dealership I took a copy of the TSB to alert the service department of the steering wandering I have on my jeep. I asked the service manager if they were aware of the issue. They told me it’s a Jeep thing.
  • On the second trip to ask about the parts for the steering and was told they cannot get any parts.
  • The third trip this year. I took the jeep in and the manager stated they cannot get any parts and they cannot order any at this time.
  • Today, Tuesday, November 24, 2020, I took the jeep to the dealer again to have them look at the issue. They acknowledged there is actually an issue but they are unaware of any parts.
Now, what I would like to know is why the dealership cannot get the parts. Do they even know there might be a backorder; did you check in the last month? Speaking with the service warranty manager I get different answers. One time it’s no one can get parts, All parts on backorder, and the best one was we cannot order the parts.
Today November 24, 2020, the dealership acknowledges there is an issue. However, I as you can see in the .jpeg the service rep writes "No Part".
So, why not order the part, they have the part number on the TSB I provided to the dealership.

Is it true Jeep does not have any parts? Is my dealership too lazy to look up and order? They acknowledge the issue after the test drive.

Was gonna give Helfman Jeep off Katy Freeway a try. I have used them for my Jeep Grand SRT before. If they give me a run around will try River Oaks. Just sad that we Loyal Jeep owners have to play games to get warranty work done. I have never experienced this from other brands before.
I had one of the worst buying experiences ever at that dealership.

Obviously separate to the service dept.

Good Idea, I may have to look into your method.
? I was just mentioning that particular dealer in Houston and how shady they were with their sales dept.

My method is where I am living in Austin, I had to escalate the issue due to the dealer being a mess with their so called "waitlist". Apparently my steering box is now at the dealer, but the bolts are not - the wait continues.

Make one wonder about some dealerships. Maybe due to the idea, they do not get paid for the warranty work? Or do they? one reason I decided to post today on this issue.
I hope your efforts pay off.

They do get paid by FCA, but its at a cheaper labor rate than what they could charge customers for other work. So they typically do not like to do warranty work, prefer other customer work. Some dealers are worse than others for refusing warranty work.

Have you contacted JeepCares for assistance? My dealer told me it would be months to get the parts, but JeepCares called this morning to tell me the dealer now has the parts. I stopped by the dealer to confirm, and have an appointment for next Tuesday to install.

Yes, thanks for asking. I did provide the same data as posted with additional information. They contacted me about the issue and explained they are working on the replacement parts for the Gladiator. Once they have the replacement/upgrade parts they will contact me.

Brace will not fix a dead spot issue - it did help a bit with tracking straight. If I were in your shoes I would let the TSB play out and then add the brace afterwards. I was called out specifically on the brace while in for service for steering issue.
Did they do it with the sector shaft brace still on or did you have to take it off first?

I experienced the same thing and felt the shady nature of that dealership. I did catch then in a few "alterations" on my sales price which they fixed. I should have walked but bought and now convinced that I will never buy a vehicle from any Mac Haik dealership. As far as I am concerned that if they are like this at this location then the shady attitude comes from the top and all Mac Haiks are shady.

Originally took my 2020 gladiator in for the TSB in early October. Finally got the steering box replaced and picked it up yesterday. Looks like the part they put in is part number is 68507569-AA

It seems the JT part number should be 68507576-AA

Did my dealership install the wrong part? And if so what are the consequences of this wrong part being installed
