I was talking with @CrazyCooter over a year ago. I made the comment that I'd like to stop by his shop one of these days when we make a trip up to his part of the country. I wasn't thinking about a suspension back then. Now I might have a better excuse for going. ;)
After someone mentioned him I remembered reading some of his posts about tuning a year or two ago. I wish I'd waited rather than ordering from accutune now, would much rather support a member. I did dm him this morning and he said to contact him if I have any trouble. It's always nice to know help is available.

I feel the same way. @CrazyCooter is more than just a member, he's caring and very generous with his time. Considering his knowledge and skill set, he's also very humble. We mostly talked about Amsoil, diesels, and towing. I wished he lived closer.

Does anyone know if @CrazyCooter tunes for us gasser people too?
Yes, It's not a huge difference between gas and diesel on the similar spring rates......slightly less compression and more rebound.

The main thing is that you are running a spring rate combination that I have worked with. Otherwise I would be doing what everyone else is selling........mismatched damping for the ride frequency!

I have minimal lift on my gladiator and have the diesel specific Falcon 3.3s 0-1.5 inch lift and love them.

I have the 2.5 elites on my diesel JT and the are the best I have ever run. The high and low speed adjustment are so far superior to how I want to use my truck, it was an easy choice after I did my research. Additionally, I got all 4 for $1750 almost new. The guy didn't know how to adjust them so he told me that he had them set to max on both settings and it was really bouncy....... He ordered a set of 8100s. You do have to play around until you find the settings that work for how you are using the truck, but isn't that the point of an adjustable suspension?

What front and rear springs are you running?
I have Teraflex 3.5 front spring with a 1/2" spacer and MC 3.5 rears. The other thing that made a really nice difference was the MC Geometry Correction Brackets.

I've talked with @CrazyCooter about rebuilding my shocks. I can vouch for him being a great guy, and as @biodiesel said, I wish I lived closer to him.

As for an off-the-shelf shock recommendation (particularly for the diesel) I am really impressed with how well Icon's CDCVs keep the front axle off the bumpstops with their unique internal bump zone in the last 20% of their travel. It's a night-and-day difference compared to the 3 other sets of shocks I've used on this Jeep. Probably not as good as shocks with @CrazyCooter's custom tuning, but certainly one of the best off-the-shelf shocks for this particular application. With these shocks I've hit the Jeep's top speed governor on Utah desert 2-tracks, jumped it in the Oregon Dunes, crawled the Rubicon, and towed a travel trailer with a full-to-the-gills bed, and the Icons have never ceased to impress me.

Thanks for the kind words!

I have found Icon shocks (other vehicle brand platforms as I have never had any Jeep in with Icons) the closest to the type of ride qualities I prefer. So your satisfaction with them does not surprise me.

Rebuilding/evaluating Icon's piston types and valving stacks also closely matches my tuning style. Lots of thoughtful piston (many times 2/3pc)shim variations vs what I see in most other brands.......a standard linear piston with a .012" over a .015" stack......yep, real original there guys. 🙄

For some people, Icons tend to be a bit on the too firm controlled side and I could agree with that based on the Tacoma, FJ, and Tundras I have driven. Sometimes people request toning things down while I'm in there rebuilding.

One issue I have with Icon where Jeeps are concerned is that they don't list the legnth specs? How could one make an educated decision not knowing? Radflo, same thing.....they list the packing box size? Come on guys......🤣 Radflo calls me asking why i haven't bought any shocks from them despite setting up a dealer account? You have any specs or inventory available f9r anything I work with yet? Nobody it asking for your product either, so there's that too.......
