What has been everyone's experience with running this more basic lift kit. I have a Rubicon it'd be going on. I'm planning on going with 34.5" x 11.8" tires (295/70R18) mounted on my old stock JK Wrangler wheels for a while. Any reviews would be great.

You dont need a lift to run 35"s. With a 2" lift, you can run 37"s.

Installed myself on 2 JT's so far. My friend's Sport, and my wife's Mojave. Works great! Don't forget the geometry correction brackets.

True you don't need a lift for 35s, but this long ass truck with poor breakover and departure angles needs all the help it can get.

Have the aev lift on mine along with the geometry correction brackets and has been good so far. Their sway bar links are junk so I'd recommend getting a better set. Mine has ridden exactly like it did from factory. That being said I do plan on going with a taller full spring lift and 37s when the fox shocks crap out. You can definitely run 35s without a lift, i just prefer the height increase. Only offroad I do is to get where I need to go hunting. Beyond that mine is used as a daily driver.

What would be a better set of sway bar links that would work best with this lift?

I ran AEV's 2" spacer lift with 33's on my 2008 JKU Rubicon for probably 150,000 miles and lots of off-roading, including a trip to Moab. I beat that thing silly in all kinds of off-roading terrain and conditions and never had an issue with it. It was great and provided a ride and handling almost identical to stock, with the stock shocks and extensions. That was exactly what I wanted. Also, I always ran stock wheels on that JK.

I had people tell me that you can't off-road the spacer lift hard, but I don't think any of them actually ever owned a rig with that kind of lift. So I called AEV before I bought it and they said I would have no problems, which turned out to be the case. It performed really well and had plenty of articulation. It saw maximum flex many, many times over some pretty tough obstacles.

I almost went with it on my Gladiator but I wanted just a little bit more to get as much breakover angle as possible and better load-carrying springs, so I went with the AEV Dualsport 2.5.

So I highly recommend the 2" spacer lift. I think it'd ride and handle very closely to stock, which is great, IMO.

I would run the AEV end links until you have troubles. I did install Terraflex quick disconnects on the front, and only ran the AEV out back. I called AEV the other day and spoke with Joe who is their Gladiator expert. I told him about all the negativity going around about their end link boots cracking. He said if someone is having trouble they should contact him for replacements because he hasn't heard about any troubles... I guess if there is a problem they can't fix what they don't hear about...

*I strongly recommend running manual quick disconnects up front because the stupid Rubicon electronic disconnect auto-reengages at 25mph+, which is a terrible pain... I just disconnect ours and run it like that for the whole day, then reconnect/air up back at the house...

I have the AEV 2” on my Mojave with 37’s and it has been great. No rubbing at all. I do have the shock extensions and geometry correction brackets. I off-road every day at work with no issues.

I originally started with the AEV 2" because I wanted to maintain my warranty, so I was told. The problem I had, and it's purely based on your preference, is that it seemed to accentuate the rake on the front. I like mine to set level. I've leveled every truck I've owned, and I don't plan on this towing anything or hauling heavy loads with the gladiator.

After a month, I asked a question on the forum about leveling with the 2" AEV, and the best response, in my opinion, was to replace the 2" spacer in the front with a Teraflex 3.5 spacer. So I followed that approach. Unfortunately, the AEV Lift for the front incorporates the spring isolator into the 2" spacer lift. I attempted to cut just the spacer off the AEV to use with the 3.5" Teraflex. The results I wanted were achieved, the Gladiator now sits level. The downside is that the spacer and isolator rattled and was not a secure solution.

3 weeks later, I ordered new Teraflex 3.5" lift springs for the front end. I also ordered 2 new isolators for the front. Now I have no rattle, and the gladiator sits perfectly level, and I am done with Lift adjustments for now.

Sorry for the long reply, but my guess is that everyone has gone through some variation of this.

Lessons Learned: If you go with the AEV 2" lift and you have someone else install them, make sure you get all the parts that they take off, which will save $$ and headaches down the road. Hopefully your results will be better than mine, but I haven't even reached 1,500 miles and I've changed the lift 3 times.
