Take a look at the offerings of Anvil Overland. It isn’t inexpensive but it is rock solid and it gives you virtually unlimited options. It is will use any of the ram mount 1” ball holders or their own.

I've been very happy with the Pro-Clip phone mounts over the years in my Jeeps. I want a mount will hold my phone so it won't fly out when the doors are off, they should have mounts for most cases for a snug fit.

I’d look at ram mounts. I don’t have a phone holder, it have their track for other things like go pro and winch controller. I want a phone holder as well. I really like ram stuff. Top quality. I have the track and am considering this mount.

$81 plus a $40 mounting plate just to hold a cell phone. Almost makes that $1000 cell phone and $65,000 Jeep seem like a good idea, eh?

I did a lot of research before jumping in to the dash mount game. I chose Bulletpoint, and they have been rock solid for me on and offload. You might check out 67designs (although they are essentially the same as Bulletpoint). I've used RAM on my off-road motorcycles, and they are very stout. I wanted something a little more elegant and not so clunky for the Gladiator. The Ram stuff can get pretty bulky.

Actually, on my tablet, I'm using a Ram mount with a grab handle ball from these guys : https://cmmoffroad.com/products/x-grip-xl-ram-mount-universal-phone-holder-with-double-socket-1-arm. Super solid stuff, but very pricy. It's larger but similar to what I linked. Super solid.

Oh, BTW, I have a case on my phone(s) and haven't had issue with the Bulletpoint mounts.

I will also jump in and suggest 67 Designs. I am very happy with their products.

I hear you. I already have the plate, and you’re right, phones are crazy expensive. Putting in that perspective, 81 doesn’t sound like much if it stays there.

Does anyone have an alternative to the bulletpoint mall crawler junk to hold a phone securely?

Bulletpoint holder are designed for people who don't put a protective case on thier phone and only drive on nicely maintained roads....
Nope this "mall crawling" junk is the one that seems to keep my phone in place. Others never worked as advertised, bought the bullet point on recommendations from someone who used it off road. Never an issue with my phone flying off since. Have heavy case on my current phone as well, the bp version I have has several mm adjusting to allow for just that.

As alternatives, there are several, I've used others most of them never work as advertised.

I have a dash bar from PBI Customs. You can use Ram Mounts or any other mount you like with it. I rock crawl and offroad all the time and it's very solid. Nothing moves. And you have the entire length of the dash to work with. I have one in both my JT and JK and I've had them in both jeeps for over 2yrs. The white one is the JT and the black one is the JK.

I also have the overhead rear bar for both jeeps. Cause, we have to keep the younguns entertained and they don't play cargames anymore. Lol. I did have to use spacers on the rear overhead mount on the JT because I have aftermarket speakers. But, they fit flush on a stock JT.

BLUF: They're the best mounting system that I've ever owned. And.... they're made right there in Texas. Family business. Father and son does all of the fabricating.

Bulletpoint holder are designed for people who don't put a protective case on thier phone and only drive on nicely maintained roads.... I have a pelican case on mine and don't stay on pavement (phone still falls on the freeway)

I had a bulletpoint tablet holder but tossed it in the trash, wouldn't hold the tablet with a case and I'm not taking the case off each time...

I found a tablet holder that the company was actually thinking about the use of thier product and they put longer angled arms..... works great

Now I need on for the phone.... hard to believe bulletpoint doesn't thin forward and the phone holder is so short and not angled at all to accommodate the protective case just about everyone uses...

Thanks

I've got that exact setup. I have a Samsung s23 with an otterbox and use 2 large(mine and wife) x mounts. They NEVER move and NEVER drop the phone. Plus i have room for a tablet or 2 other items
