School buses use L-track for wheelchair tie downs and modular seating. Airplanes use it to mount seats and hold cargo. Typically the aluminum has a working load of 2,000+lbs. , that is using mounting holes every 4 inches.
Keep the tracks clean! Spray them with oil or whatever because they trap dirt and junk then oxidize and make sliding components very difficult.
If you have permanent items mounted in the track try to not mount them in front of the mounting bolts/screws incase they become tight then you can still take the rail out to fix it. Also a grease etc. between the head of mounting bolts and the track helps slow the dissimilar metal corrosion.

I use the L Track. I had to mark and drill countersink hole in rails to match exactly the holes on bed, and purchase eight bolt that are 6mmx1inch SS for countersink hole, since the ring stud fitting doesn't slide in the track very well I dont think countersinking the mounting bolts was necessary but that's just my thinking

Man those are cool! Thier rail system is "only" 300$ and comes with 4 of those! I'm tempted. But the rail is out of stock

Which length did you get? Did you need to drill holes into the rail or did they match up by some miracle ? The 5' is $33 right now. I guess worse case I can buy it and cut it.

Pretty well. I've hauled furniture across the state with the tailgate down, picked up lumber, and hauled two refrigerators in the upright position. Also moved (i.e., house to house belongings and furniture/appliance) for a couple people with the tailgate down.

5" is $33, I don't see an option for 5'.
