i was thinking you meant the removable drain pluGs.
Never would do such a thing. Even road spray would eventually migrate into the cab.

Next question for this hive mind. Sealing the bed. Installer offers “Advanced Sealing” for a $$$ price. This is beyond the basic sealing that is part of the camper install. I’ve already had the bed sprayed with Linex, and I figure I can catch any visible openings with Sikaflex and MultiSeal Tape. Is it safe to DIY here, or would I be making a mistake not paying for the extra sealing? That’s a lot of gas money ;)

Do we have a list of known problem areas in the JT bed susceptible to dust and water ingress?

Climb inside your camper, close it up so it's completely dark, then have someone shine a flashlight inward from the outside...all areas including through the taillights. You should be able to find the leaks quickly and seal them.

I sealed mine up. Worst possible place was on the sides of the bed where the tailgate used to be. At first used foam and tape. But foam just sponged water. Changed to sealant over tape to help place the sealant. I also seal every rib it and addition to the canop camper inside and out. Where I am able to access it. So far has worked out 100%. Only issues I have are front hinges. But will address this week.

Down through the inside electrical channel of the camper and came out below the tailgate area. I then ran everything under the truck along the frame rail. I believe it was about 21' of wire to get it there. I came in through the grommet under the seat and ran up the side of the dash/door to get to the mirror.
With your camera bracket, any advice on installation, things you’ve changed or would do different?

Things I am trying to figure out:
Do I drill a hole in the rear face of the canopy above the door or on one of the back side panels, behind the Molle plates?

If so, how small and still get the camera cables through?

Did you use a cable gland or something else to seal?

Hey, sorry, just getting to your message. I drilled a hole directly behind the camera mount. It needs to be large enough to get the cable end though, I believe approx 5/8". A cable gland works good, I have two wires going through mine since I also have the Brandmotion camera. I also have the extension cable needed for the tailgate camera if you need one.

Finishing up a few more tasks while I impatiently wait for Tiny Rig Co to get an install date scheduled. It’s somewhere between NJ and CA. Anticipation is high.

So I relocated my XM antenna using the Maximus-3 Bracket. I found one video on YouTube for this and it was helpful. Took three hours start to finish, and required removing the interior roll bar trim panels and sound bar. Freedom panels need to come off, but did not need to remove the back part of the top. So this could be done if you already have the camper installed.

I also took the opportunity to install the mirror piece from the Brandmotion FullVue camera system. This is my second time installing one of these, put one in a JK a few years back. The instructions are still terrible.

One question for those who have installed the FullVue kit. Where did you connect to power? Did you follow Brandmotion’s instructions and tap behind the media controls or did you go for sources in the passenger footwell if you have the factory AUX switch option? Considering that route.

Either on this thread or the other AluCab Roll Call thread, some have reported issues with the camper covering the XM antenna. I do know that roof racks cause interference so I went ahead and preemptively addressed this. The bracket moves the antenna to the drivers side, by the windshield.

@LAJEEPR i might try that. I let the radio service lapse after having the camper installed due to reception issues. Usually it is not an issue because I can run Pandora or Amazon music, it is only when driving at Windrock and a few other places where I lose reception.

I can answear this firsthand now… Pretty bad. It receives sometimes, but mostly not. And when it is receiving, it drops out under every single freeway overpass. I don’t recall it ever doing that before the ACCC went on
