Thank you, I’ll be doing this procedure today! My wheels hub bore match the jeeps according to the website.

If your wheels are hub centric, there is little value to the procedure. Note that Gladiator lug nut torque specs are 130 ft/pounds. The blurb was originally post with 90 ft/pounds (specs for my TJ).

Okay cool. I’ll check the torque then.

I’ll have drop brackets back on today. I believe my current caster is around 4 degrees.

Still need to put mopar lower control arms but one bolt is insanely tight, bent my wrench. Need to get a torch and work on that another day.

Those lower control arm bolts are double tough to get loose. On my Wrangler, even with a he-man impact gun, I had to loosen from the bolt side. The nut would not come loose.

What do you need the Mopar lowers for?

I initially thought I needed longer lowers to help with caster. I also read in another post that new lowers helped someone’s else DW. $100 try. Ended up not installing them anyway.

MAJOR UPDATE

*Did not install mopar extended control arms*

Installed front geometry brackets that I had laying around and shortened the Clayton uppers. My caster may be too much. Phone app level put it around 7.5-8. May have to extend the uppers alittle and get a proper caster reading.

I checked nearly every nut and bolt at this point and everything seems good.

At this time the brackets made all the difference in the world. Steering is much tighter, nearly no bump steer. Could not reciprocate DW on the highway, (couldn’t find a big enough bump so far). But wow huge win today and gave me some hope.

Current mods:

Clayton Off-road 2.5 ride right+ lift kit
Teraflex front lower spring isolators (prevent spring bow)
Falcon shocks and stabilizer
Whiteline swaybars f/r
Fifteen52 17x9 0 offset
Bfg k02 37x12.5 36 psi

Here’s been my added mods and fixes to get to this point:

Standard grade 8 track bar bolts, washers, locknuts, loctite - 9/16 x 3.5 18 thread.

Numerous alignment adjustments resulting in Clayton off-road upper control arms measuring about 19 3/4”.

Front geometry correction brackets. HUGE difference.

I do believe I still need a proper road force balance. The tires seem a bit bumpy, I don’t see uneven wear. No shaking in the steering wheel though.

Well done. Took some doing but getting it dialed in takes some time and patience.
Thank you! I think a proper road force balance is next. I still have a bit of wobble on huge bumps at speed. While replacing track bar bolts and tightening I did notice how much the upper mount flexes. I’ve see. Metalcloacks brace, are the sector braces with bearings worth it?

Yes they are. I have the Synergy one but they’re all pretty much the same. Just pay attention to the gauge of steel they use when you go to purchase. Kind of a booger to get everything lined up but I noticed a slight improvement when I got mine all buttoned up.

Too much caster can cause a slight wobble on bumps. Low speed vibe is usually a driveshaft vibe which can also be a product of to much caster which creates a bad pinion angle if DS is spinning. With geo correction brackets stock length control arms are normally fine. I don't care for the OE Clevite Bushings as they are to soft for my taste. Running

EDIT: BFG 37s no problem balancing . Been running BFG All terrains on my DD since they came out in the later 70s

Interesting update.

Spoke to another shop regarding road force balancing. Without even saying it, they asked if my tires were BFGs. Which they are and they said they never have luck with them balancing out well. Anyone have that experience?

No, I have not had an issue with BFG's not balancing. And BFG's are / have been an OEM tire on Wranglers for years. Clearly some people have issues with them not balancing. But most don't seem to.
Balance is balance. It should just be a matter of applying the required amount of weight in the right places. My 37" KO2's did not even take that much weight to get balanced. Considerably less weight than the Nitto RG's that replaced them took. But that is not a fair comparison as it was on different wheels.

Okay good to hear thank you. They are pretty light tires for being 37s.

Starting to think I need to go back to the 35s just so I can drive on the highway again. Around town is great so far. No issues under 50mph

I’ve had 2 sets of BFG AT tires. Both sets had one tire that took much more weight than the others. I’ve switched to Toyo tires and been very happy with them.
