Heads up ... Noob Qs:
My wants/needs:
1a. I would like my rear camera activated when I activate the turn signals.
1b. Disable Auto Start/Stop? Or better still, should be disabled by default & I need to enable it when needed (stop & go situation)
1c. Auto unlock based on proximity (key fob based)
2. GMRS or FRS. For the next 6 to 12 months, I will not be out of sight of any fellow Jeepers while wheeling, etc .. Till I get comfortable to go solo, my plan will be to within earshot/eyesight while I'm outdoors. Do I need a GMRS? Or will FRS suffice?
Q1: I see several posts here & there, about Tazers and jScan. Based on (re)search, I think I understand pros & cons. Can I address 1 using only one unit? And do they need to be permanently tethered in the car? Can I remove them, after changing the settings?
Q2: I understand the differences between both. However, since I hike/MTB solo, my plan was to get an inReach garmin device for emergencies. But I saw this unit, (
BTECH GMRS-PRO 5W GPS, Bluetooth) and wondered if this could solve the GMRS+GPS needs I have, especially areas without any cell signals. (Also, I'm leaning towards GMRS for the benefit of others in my riding group, if I'm at basecamp and they need to reach me in case of emergencies. FRS will not work in such situations.) If I go the GMRS route, it should have the bluetooth ability to share my phone location. Or the GMRS location. I see only this BTEch product. Any other recos?
Admins: Please move it to the right folder if it should not be here.
TIA
Cheers
