Even with a trasharoo you still ideally need to line it with a trash bag. That’s how I do mine, but I guess you could get away without one. However most trasharoo like products have two holes on the bottom of the bag for draining water, so smaller garbage could probably fall out without a bag. Maybe you could find a way to plug the drain holes.
Personally I haven’t used my trasharoo on my gladiator yet, I also worry about damaging the paint. I might just get a big roll of PPF and do half of the tailgate. It would be nice to not have trash bags take up space in the bed.
Trasharoo or not, I always tie the bag off and hang it from a tree far away from camp due to being in bear country.
Go get a couple ikea bags and put the trash in them. They are cheap as hell and super durable. Those kangaroo bags never stop stinking if you spill somethingOn their tailgate? Does it mess up paint rubbing or any other issues?
What brand do you use?
I am tired of the black plastic bags I use while cleaning up on the trails.
TIA
Jim
Thats a good idea as wellI bought a 40 L dry bag off eBay for 12 bucks. I hang that off the truck when camping and use it for trash with the trash bag clipped inside it. When I’m done with it, I can roll at the top and clip it close so it’s airtight and no stinky garbage smell comes out.
you can see it in the picture there. The big orange bag.

Can you still "baja" with that camping setup? I always tell myself i'll do a rig like that, But then I realize I have a Mojave and I like jumping and hitting sand at 80+.
