First Mod to the Glady

Chose the pizza cutters, although actually look chunkier than anticipated. (In a good way)

255 85 17 on AEV Salta XR.

Stoked on the look. General driving noise much better than stock BFG muddies.

Sticky Mickeys for the win, yet again.

Question on Tyre Pressure

As above the new tyres are Mickey T's Baja in size 255 85 17.

Tyre shop has set them to 41psi. This seems high for this size tyre. Any feedback on what pressure to run?

Thanks in advance

Ask @Mightytalldude. I’m pretty sure he has the same size and talked to Mickey Thomson. Because of the narrower foot front I know they told him much higher than my 37x12.5 version. I think around 40psi.

If you call MT, give them your original tire size, gvwr and new tires and load rating, you'll find it is actually that high from MT. They told me 46, verified twice, although I run them 42ish normally. Load range E is most likely the reason. I've run them 15psi on the trails, and they are very trail friendly and sticky.

Thanks @Mightytalldude & @WILDHOBO

Much appreciated. What I was reading indicated much lower but for a wider tyres of different makes.

Appreciate the info!
Any time. I assumed on my first set of larger tires and found out that I was way too high on pressure for the first 6k miles. Now I know better.

This is good info. Mine got set to 38 when installed, sounds like I might want to go up a few psi. I will call mt, curious what it is my gross weight

They’ll just want what it says on your driver door frame sticker.

Could you tell me which manufacturers do and if any of them are E rated? It seems hard to find the info. Thanks!

Yes… I have 1.5” wheel spacers pictured here, but I took them off real soon. Being on Mojave wheels, they were not as tucked as I was worried about them being.

BRO! in my humble opinion, the poke on these are exactly perfect. But then again, I bought AEV Pintlers for the JKs to put on my gladiator because they were more dished...

Here's the narrow 35" Sticky Mickey's on Poison Spider last weekend. I was aired down to 15psi. It's pretty easy to see in this video how well they caterpillar over obstacles when aired down. Very grippy.

If you go the outside, you can hold it. It’s cuz we got a real good set o matched tires on there. Those tires are matched perfect, and staggered special.

Nice to see skinny 35s and stock wheels on a Sport, instead of a Sport Max Tow, Rubicon, or Mojave with wider axles. Mine is a Sport S narrow axle. I like the stock wheels and was hoping not to replace them or use wheel spacers. Everything clears (at least daily driving for now), and I really like the subtle look. Perfect for exploring the back roads, and a comfortable daily.

Toyo Open Country AT3s 35x11.5R17 with a 1" front Teraflex spring spacer and 3/4" Daystar rear spacer. Some other tire options looked good, but I've had E rated tires on a Tacoma, and the change in ride quality got old, so I didn't want that again. I wanted to try the Falken Wildpeak in the same size and C rating, but they were backordered, so the local shop recommended these.

The rears just barely clear the bumpstops by an inch or less. Same for the exhaust. It's a diesel with passenger side exhaust, so maybe not an issue on the gas model.

Performance loss is less noticeable than I was expecting, and I'm really liking the diesel with these tires. Size seems better suited to this engine than the 31s; still stays in high gear, etc. The difference in braking however, is much more noticeable.
