I have a cover on mine but it’s supposed to be weather tight. It will still get humid inside depending on the weather conditions. Drawer height is the main limiting factor at just under 8 inches so measure your bags and go from there. I just did a 6000 mile road trip and had it loaded down with tools and a rolling duffle bag not stuffed to the brim will fit in there. Haven’t tried my hard shell carry on bags.

I am loving the single drawer system by the way. With a canvas bed cap like a Softopper or Bestop supertruck2 bed cap that I am running it is perfect.
Thanks for the review and disappointing 8" height. Plenty of room for everything but the way my family packs...

I'm thinking about buying a used two drawer near me. Anyone regret buying this? I have a camper shell in winter and take it off for summer.

Just be aware there is a ton of wasted space and the drawers have an odd shape. There is a reason there are a lot of them for sale second hand. This was the main reason I did not pull the trigger when I got my Jeep 3 years ago.

I have the dual drawer in mine, using it with a GFC and love it. I did make some atypical choices though as Im only running the smaller drawer side right now.

Basically I love that I can have one side installed and leave the other side open for extra standing room with the GFC tent up. The one side that is in works are a great step to help get up into the camper, it also makes a decent seat when Im in the truck bed.

I weighed out the entire system and Decked's site is not super accurate, while there may be some variance I weighed each piece individually and the total weight for mine is 171 lbs. Its not light, but then again my spare is about 100 lbs. With the one side in and the other side out its only 114lbs.

I have no complaints, originally before I got it in I thought about selling it because the combo of the system, the GFC and the larger spare squated the truck by ~.75". But I ended up installing a rear spacer and was glad I kept it.

For me, I picked it up used for $800 or $700. I've seen a few for as low as $500 locally. To build my own drawer system would have cost less, but not a lot less and would not be finished with a durable and easy to clean plastic. The aftermarket systems from Goosegear and other suppliers are as much as 2-3x what I paid. I've seen them at expos and theyre nice, but no where near as nice as necessary when spending $1500-2200.

If you can snag one used, do it. You can easily recoup the cash if its not for you.

Ill get some pictures up when theres more light out.

In for photos. I am looking at a local two drawer for mine, but concerned about how tall they are when running a GFC. Doesnt leave a lot of room to climb into the back. I didn't realize you could just run one side.

My other option is building a single drawer that I have drawn up.

I did have to get a piece of aluminum angle bar and cut it to run the one side, cost maybe $5 and 5 minutes with a handsaw.

Looks like you have to run the full width rear piece?

It needs some sort of rear bracing, it could be removed but some sort of permanant fixture would need to be there to keep it from only being anchored on the driver side bedside. It wouldnt move laterally but could bounce and stress the bedside mounts without it. You could possibly cut it and then drill into the bed bulkhead but that's a little invasive to recoup maybe 1 cu ft.

Im currently considering buying some plywood and cutting it into a "L" shape to run the top of the drawer and over the top of the rear support. It would act like a small table top and provide a small cubby under the passenger side.

Yeah I think I'll go pick the one local to me up after seeing this. The one I have drawn up is only one side, and after slides and everything it's probably going to cost just as much, but with the Decked I can run one or two drawers.

I've seen a few people do this, where they cut the top panel on the narrower side to make a space for standing. I have an extra top panel and eventually think I may do this as well.

So I just picked up the new single door Decked system. I’m really thankful I bought it from Home Depot and picked up in store because after driving home and around town for a couple of errands with the box and battle mat sitting in the bed, I was able to go right back to the store and return it. The weight was really noticeable and while I could have upgraded to the AEV HD springs I felt like I am trying to make this truck into something it’s not.

The old system was supposedly a little lighter at about 175lbs, neither are light, ultimately part of why I sold mine.

I added bags and it helped a bit but payload is payload and eventually you start to notice how it's harder to stop, how it needs more sway reinforcement, etc.

If I had it in an open bed without my GFC it would have been fine for me.

I think it depends on what you want to do. I originally had the two drawer system and then wanted to go a different direction and removed it and sold it and added molle panels instead and a different way to mount my spare tire. When I got everything done with the system and took it out 4-wheeling I found out it wouldn't work the way I thought it would and ended up going back to the decked system. Unfortunately I couldn't find any used systems close to me and even the ones within 4 hours people want new prices for a used system so I ended up going with the new one drawer system. I like the decked system having tried different systems and having had both the two drawer and one drawer system I much prefer the two drawer system over the one drawer system as it just seems easier to organize and know where everything is than one giant drawer but that is just me. The old two drawer system also had a track system that you could put on it with adjustable tie down points and the new system doesn't have that it only has the 4 tie points one on each corner.
