Anyone order the Falken MT or AT tires and regret the decision? I see many more Gladiator Rubicons with the all terrain tires than with the mud terrain tires... I ordered mine with the mud terrain, but want to make sure I didn't miss a thread or something about issues with them.

I don't think there are any issues with MT, I haven't heard of any, but MT make more road noise, they have a hum to them while driving, so I'm not surprised more people go with AT which are much quieter.

On the flip side MT give you better traction when wheeling.

I don't know how substantial the difference would be, but I think you get slightly better wear life and MPGs out of an A/T.

My feeling on the MT’s is you have to want them otherwise it’s wasted potential performance. If you know you are gonna be in “The Shit” they are a solid choice. If soft roading is going to be your extent of wheeling the AT are the better choice; less noise, better mpg, more civilized handling etc.

I've gone back and forth between ATs and MTs over the years with many miles accumulated and each type of tire has it's pros and cons. But my opinion is that if you are going to be on the road 95% of the time, which most people are, then a good AT tire makes the most sense. You give up a small amount of traction in very muddy conditions, but you gain benefits everywhere else. Better rain traction, better snow traction, better wear pattern, longer life, less noise, better fuel economy, etc. Truth be told, very very few people NEED mud tires.

I'm currently wearing down some MTs on my truck, and when my tires are all used up I'm going back to ATs permanently this time.

I honestly thought the Falken M/T were going to be worse driving day in/day out than they actually are. They make a little bit of tire hum but not bad really. I've heard much much worse (ahem, Federal Couragia). You can definitely feel the lugs and bite when turning slow on concrete, but overall it's been a pretty good ride.

That being said, when I get my new wheels hopefully next week, I'm going to go back to Nitto Ridge Grapplers because I like that they have an aggressive look like an M/T but are quiet and mannered like an A/T. I had them on my F-150 for a year and loved them.

No issues here with the Falken MTs. IMO actually very quiet comparable to other MTs. A good looking tire as well. I also run the Mastercraft Courser MXTs on my JL and no complaints there either. At some point I will likely buy some Nitto Ridge Grapplers but not anytime soon.

I got the ATs and i love them. They look good and perform well on road. And off road they really dig in and bite well. Been in mostly sandy rocky areas though. And they are really quiet as well.

Better road performance with ATs, better off-road with MTs. Falken Wildpeak ATs get especially high marks for Snow & Rain! ;{

I'm daily driving with the M/T's and there's very little noise from them...you get a little rumble/bumpier at slower speeds but nothing noticeable. I guess I'd have to drive the A/T's to know the difference?

Awesome! The ATs I test drove didn't have any rumble at all (which makes sense) and had great road manners. I'm still glad I ordered the MTs. Can't wait to get mine in - thanks everybody!

Just tested the MT the other day in some sloppy mud and they did hands down better than my buddies new Rubicon JL bfg ATs. You can hear them but only if you want to.
