Keep seeing the mopar bed rails being used to attach a bed rack.
I haven’t seen anyone use unistrut for these rails. Any reason why or why not it wouldn’t work?

Thanks in advance

I currently have it in my jeep. I have the lower profile ones on the sides and the larger profile on the back (closest to the cab). However both will work in either place. I have had zero issues with it for about 5 years now. The one downside is if you have a cover or anything the attachments will most likely have to be custom.

I've been using it to hold an air compressor and also my RSI cap, even got stainless steel , but did not put any on front as I figure every inch is important in a 60" bed.......Jack
Edited to show a couple things:

Used 316 stainless cast eye bolts pretty low profile.

Used one of the existing corner holes with stainless fender washer for front, never had an issue with not having the front rail on .

I used the unistrut also. I have the spray in bedliner that fills the threaded holes used to mount the bed rails. Had to get a tap and run through the threaded rail mounting points. I had the Bak Revolver bed cover and there is no conflict with the bed rails. This link is related to my unistrut bed rails with a couple pictures.

Mine are made from the deep galvanized unistrut. I have three tie down hooks on each side. They have worked fine when I had bed rack, and my bed cover installed no problem with it.

That being said - probably makes just as much since to get the kit from Amazon unless you just have strut laying around OR just like DIY projects (which I did/do).

This is what I did on my 21 Gladiator. Solid Unistrut and black wrinkle paint. Worked fine. On my 25 Mojave I have the Amazon rails.

I have JT scheduled to get a spray-in bedliner. I would like to put in a DIY trail rail system like what many have done here. Did anyone thread-in bolts prior to getting the bed liner sprayed, just so the the holes were clear later?

When I had mine done the company covered any threaded holes. I had bought a thread chaser but didn't have to use it.

I've also heard of guys shoving golf tees into the holes before taking their truck in to have the bed sprayed.
