This location has worked out well for me.
My vulnerability is needing to operate the window with my right (shooting) hand.

I looked at one similar a couple years ago but thought it would hit my leg and I’m only 5’ 8”. After trying a couple other options I didn’t like, I ultimately went with a Sticky Holster stuffed between driver seat and the console for long drives.
That's how I carry my PPK...locked and loaded !

I carry condition one on my right hip. Never leave home without it.
I was thinking the same thing…. On your hip….
And if you can’t carry it in any given property or in a building, you keep that shit locked up and out of site.

Had to notch out a small piece of plastic for the sights to clear. Takes about a half second to push down on the frame and chamber a round before drawing the weapon from the mount ready for action. The only hindrance is remembering its there when exiting the vehicle as my right leg bumps the gun on exit if I’m not paying attention . I’m 6’2” so may not be a problem for shorter legs. Great mount and gun specific. Perfect for CCW size guns IMO.

My theory is if I'm in fear for my life I'm not going to be rolling the window down, it's one more barrier between me and the threat.
If I need to I'll put a round through the glass.

It appears to be from here or similar

https://at-the-ready.us/

I'd go for that if I lived in a free state. But in NY you have to keep things hidden to avoid harassment.

I feel like you'd hit the steering wheel.

I find these kinds of posts interesting, do you think you'll be in a situation where driving away isn't possible?
Never been at a stop light with vehicles in front and behind you? Never had your ignition off in a parking lot where it takes two seconds for someone to approach?

I'm not a believer in holsters / mounts that leave a trigger uncovered.
Trigger uncovered, pointed at your foot, and you have to paint your fucking femoral artery to draw the thing. To everyone giving OP shit about not having one chambered, it's probably the only thing preventing someone from removing themself from the gene pool should you need it.

@jeepdan has the right spot if you're bothering to do quick draw in a vehicle. Zero reason to have it left-hand accessible.

Yeah I would assume car jacking happens quick. I've never been car jacked but if driving away was always an option I feel like there would be less of them.

I always leave room to move, but also damage to my vehicle is not a concern if I need to get away.

If someone is approaching and you don’t notice until they’re at your window then you don’t have time to draw anyhow, unless you’re in a movie. Not saying you should notice, just being realistic with what the situation would be.
