Agree - mine does the gear holding occasionally. The few times it has happened, I have dropped it into manual shift then back to auto to correct.Your throttlebody is loosing position os my bet, and when that happens the system requires park and key off reset.
I just had a conversation with SteveOrlando about this. There is a thread about throttle bodies making noise. I rhink ot is more than that. i have tuned a large number of these trucks now and they all have varying degrees of weird throttlebody behavior. I started logging a bunch of parameters on my truck for this, and it is surprising how often ot looses position, especially if you let it do a start stop. Just having the engine on all the time. If you do a WOT to coast and back on the throttle, it gets really confused. And then the transmission holds the gear it is in until it all settles out. Uggh the 3.6L is not making me happy?
