Auto Stop/Start Stopped working.

Before you say it I want this to work so I can decide when it is off or on. This started about 3 months ago I noticed that the auto stop/start was not coming on, my first thought was it was winter and that can effect the system so I waited. It has continued I have taken it to the dealership and they tested both batteries with no answer any thoughts?

There are 2 "hood open" sensors on the right hand front when you open the hood. One of them is just to disable cruise and shit if the hood is open, maybe one of them?

What does the dash screen say? It gives you the status of the system on one of the pages. There are a bunch of reasons that it won't engage that system, and they aren't necessarily it "being broken". It needs conditions to be just right to function.

Mine pretty much shows "not ready charging" all the time now as the status no matter how much I drive. I noticed it never came on even when I forgot to disable it.

I had the same issue for over a year. Eventually the battery died. I took it to jeep and had both batteries replaced under warranty.

Same issue here too, battery was always charging. I took it to the dealer and they replaced both batteries.

My 2021 Gladiator’s start/stop function was working fine until I disconnected the battery to install my Rockslide Engineering Stepsliders. Needed to be reflashed or reset by the dealer to start working again. It worked for a day or two and now constantly says the system isn’t ready but doesn’t give a reason why. Shouldn’t it give a reason?

Some have reset the IBS and gotten things kosher again, others have had batteries replaced.
In my case, I've yet to ask the dealer but - found out by putting a cheap "battery tender" on it over-night that the next day it worked fine once engine temp was up and cabin temp was reached. No more "stop/start not ready, battery charging" message - until it sat a couple of days and the temp dipped again.
It seems to be that when it's cold the batteries either never get to what the system wants or expects, or the IBS is sensing things wrong. In warm weather mine works fine unless it sits 2 or 3 days then it takes a lot of driving to get it going again.

It says that it is unavailable because the battery is charging. I have had the dealer test both batteries and say they are fine.

If both batteries are good, resetting or replacing the battery sensor may fix the problem.

They did an update to the ecm on mine a few weeks ago. Mine was charging all winter long….personally I feel like while the battery is cold it is always going to call for charging. Mines been good sense the update

Been trying to figure mine out... I noticed a couple weeks ago that the stop/start hadn’t worked for a while but didn’t think much of it till I noticed the info center simply said “stop/start not ready” all the time. Temps in the 20’s to 40’s. To try to save on gas A little, I have been turning off the seats and steering wheel heat and the stop/start started working consistently. I think it has to to with all the accessories working it draws down the aux battery.

Also worth noting if your running the 3.0 the def heater is running off the battery…

I had the same issue on my 2020 Overland. Batteries were fine, yet always had the ‘battery charging message’. Finally dealer had to recalibrate the charging system so that it knew that the battery was fully charged. I didn’t have an issue after that.
